Aww this is a beautiful tribute to Michelle, Debi! You're obviously very proud of her as she with you, especially after this fine tribute. And doesn't she look like you! Same smile, same shape face. It's amazing when we see our children reach these landmark ages. I mean, where did all those years go? So well done for marking them as you do in the best most enduring way - in poetry and love. Thank you for sharing. And happy birthday to Michelle! Love Debbie

Thank you, Hon, but I just noticed that something did not save. I would never put you and you as rhyming words. Shit. Oops excuse my French, and why do they always blame the swear words onto the French? Haha.

But yes, the was to say too and it did not save. I am actually embarrassed because it was auto-correct that put it there and I changed it. Oh well, hopefully it was just you that saw it.
Thanks for the beautiful review and always the sweetest comments. You are so kind. Much love, my friend. Debi

Awe, Debi, this was a beautiful poem. As only a mother can experience, that love for your child grows and grows. We see ourselves in them and we pray for them daily. There is nothing more fulfilling than our children. Gretchen

Hi Gretchen, and thanks so much for this awesome review and for the kind words for Michelle. Yeah, I do see myself in her, but mostly she looks like her dad. I am pretty proud, so thanks so much.

Ah the pleasures and pains of the journey of motherhood. Your poem speaks from experience, the experience of the pains of giving birth, of watching a child form her hopes and dreams, and then watching her grow up and realize some of those dreams. It is a celebration of life. I think Yeats said it best, even though he was not a woman, his talent for capturing whole realms of life in brief words was amazing. This is from his masterpiece, Among School Children:
What youthful mother with that shape upon her lap
Honey of generation had betrayed,
And that must sleep, shriek, struggle to escape
As recollection or the drug decide,
Did she but see that shape
With sixty or more winters on his head,
A compensation for the pang of his birth,
Or the uncertainty of his setting forth? estory

Hi there estory. What an awesome review and I have heard of Yeats before. and I also heard of this wonderful poem before. The poem was one of my mom's favorite poems. She was a remarkable teacher and the reason why Oprah named teachers for acts of kindness.

Thanks so much for this awesome review and for the kind words for Michelle. Yeah, I am pretty proud of both of them. So thanks so much.

Oh, Debi, what a beautiful tribute to your 50-year-old baby girl!

The beginning stanza is touching as you compare the 9 months in the womb to the fifty years in your heart!

It is a great gift to watch them grow, isn't it? And to watch them become the men and women they are?

Oh and how she grew and made you a grandma, and the resulting deja vu as you see your daughter in them. It's is so true!!!

Your love grows with the fifty years!! How sweet!

Much love,
Rhonda 🌺🫶🏻💕

Hi Honey, except that it put the word you in one of the lines before the YOU line and so it looked like I was trying to rhyme you with you. I caught it and saved it and it didn't save. I didn't catch that for a couple hours. Anyway I have it saved now where it says too and you on the next line.

Thanks again, Sweetie and I am so appreciative of your sweet review, kind words and awesome stars. Thanks again so much. Much love, Debi

Awww, I hate it when I forget to save. I've done it after a long session of revising before. At least you finally caught it!!

    Love you bunches,
    Rhonda

But have you ever pushed save and not had it save?
    That is frustrating! LOL
reply by davisr (Rhonda) on 26-Mar-2025
Yes!!! I've had it lock up and have lost all the hard work. Because of that, I try to remember to save often, but that's such a hassle.

You mothers are all the same. Softies when it comes to your kids. And dictatorial when dealing with dear hubby. (Just Joking.)
In truth, another delightful poem from DPM. Sorry, just spent my last six.

Hi Bob, oh you are so right about me. I am such a softie that I get choked up and emotional so easily. I guess part of being a mom.
Very funny joke, you nut. Thanks so much for this awesome review and for the kind words for Michelle. Yeah, I am pretty proud of her, so thanks so much, my dear friend.

So lucky to have such a beautiful daughter. I guess it has a lot to do with your being a great mom for her. She also made you a grandma, I'm sure. Fiftieth birthday is a big one, half decade, a true midlife. I sincerely wish her: Happy Birthday, Michelle.

Well done.

What a wonderful tribute to your daughter. She sounds very special, but all our children are that, aren't they, even the ones we don't give birth to. She is also a very pretty girl displaying the healthy, home-grown health that will stand her in good stead.

Thanks so much, Kace. I am very proud of her. Did I ever tell you she is a vice president of a large world wide crop insurance company and she handles all of North America. Sorry if it sounds like I am bragging, but they just made the decision after her boss stepped down. I guess before she was doing the work and he was getting the credit. Anyway, yes, I am proud.

So thanks for treating Michelle, like she was one of us. This birthday was so important to me, so I wanted do it FanStory way.
Thanks for the kind words for her and her poem. I do appreciate it. Your shiny six stars mean a lot to me. Thank you again, my wonderful friend.
    Love and hugs, Debi
