Looking in from the outside, across the pond, you have you hands full with this one. Trump won't be stopped, he will do whatever is neccessary to stop those who are against him. I don't envy you, Jesse. We have problems with our Prime Minister, but not as much as you. Our PM doesn't have the power President Trump has, and for that very reason. Ours can't interfere with the law, the judges or anything that goes with it. It's out of bounds for the PM. And rightly so. Good luck with getting a petition up. You might be able to stop him, but I sadly think you won't. Excellen, very compassionate piece of writing, my friend. :) Sandra xx

There are no surprises as he announced several things ahead of time - enough to make people see him for who he is but ... they still voted for him, believing his words would be good for the country, or at least for themselves. His actions will be good for a few, but not for most, but I do believe you will very soon have lost your democracy as he will surround hmself with loyalists and he will block reasoned debate, and everybody will be forced to submit to his will or face the consequences. The previous government was not good for the country but nor was Trump's previous presidency. Trump's greed to bully other countries into submission and /or takeover is very dangerous. I guess it all depends on what one calls "a great country"!

Thanks, Wendy, for sharing your thoughts on what makes a great country. One third of the voting population didn't even vote in the last election so they have no recourse but to fight the good fight and be compassionate for those who suffer. I voted against him twice and still he is now our president once again. Yes, he is extremely dangerous.

I can't bear to be continually emotionally manipulated by media. But I won't completely stick my head in the sand because there are people who understand like you.

No, I injured my left foot so my knee surgery is postponed until May 29th.
I don't mind. It gives me more time to prepare myself for walking again.

Isolation is never a good thing during despair, depression, anxiety, etc. It's easy to get lost in those feelings, and this is a good reminder to reach out to others - to get help when we're feeling weak and to offer help when we're a bit stronger.
