Do Not Isolate

by Jesse James Doty

To those who are bothered by what our president has to say; Do not give in to despair and loneliness, do not isolate.

Those of us who feel as you do will help you get through this. We are in this together, we are one in our cause for justice so please take heart, don’t isolate.

Some of us have joined protest marches, and we are proud of who we are. We will move forward to march for peace and justice, again and again, until we make the difference we need to accomplish our goals.

Do not lose faith, do not lose hope. We will not lose touch with the people who are not able or willing to protest in the streets.

Reach out to one another. Take heart in their togetherness for our cause for justice. Offer them comfort, and strengthen our resolve to stick together. We must stay in touch with friends and extended family, helping them to not isolate as well. We can make a difference.

Write letters to your congressman. Make yourself heard that way. Call them or even text them. They will take notice of the sheer volume of letters, calls, and texts they receive about what we believe is right.

Remember, you are not alone. We are in this together. We will make a difference. Don’t lose faith, hope, and the supreme ideal that we love one another. Do not despair, and no matter what, do not isolate.
