A little Appalachian horror story

Monster Gold

by Cassandra Vaillancourt

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.

The prospectors staked claim to the old Wolf's Hallows gold mine.

Mining went smoothly at first but the miners became unnerved by the constant howlings of the wolves which sounded closer by the day.

Incidents then started happening as equipment got destroyed and men vanished after mysterious blood-curdling screams.

A security team was quickly brought in to guard the camp. The howlings got closer followed by attacks by large humanoid wolf-like creatures.

The security's arsenal was no match against these creatures as they laid waste to the camp.

There were no survivors and the monsters blended into the night.

I thought up this story from a couple of shows: Yukon Gold and Monster Quest. This also doubles as a great Appalachian tale too! Should I crank out some more Appalachian horrors?
