This was such a beautiful poem, Yvette. I can definitely understand the winning place in the contest. The imagery was perfect, as was the slightly hopeful, yet realistic tone.

I must give you a six star on this poem. Love the meaningful words that you wrote about tears, grieving pain. 'But they can wash away ashes on a scorched heart'. I hope that no one will ever get this close to a burning flame.

I know personally that when I'm overwhelmed and I let the tears flow crying out to God, it releases my burden. I feel lighter and feel like I can go on. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

Well mystery poet, this was simply gorgeous! Similar to the Nonet which is my favorite. A fine offering and aptly illustrated. I'm in the oak tree mood lately. This appealed to me on every level.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the contest. A six for you today as well!

Such a wonderful review, Lady Sal - oak trees are beautiful even through there scars and mostly because of the way nature designs around them! Have cried until there's an empty well there for now... so it's time to start smiling again! Thank you for both the lovely comments and the bright, shining stars! Enjoy the evening, my lady!

Awesome! Your poem is an absolute winner, I have no doubt; simple down to earth vocabulary so beautifully phrased in meaningful, poignant verses with superb alliteration; magic!

Oh, how well I identify with the rawness of this beautiful poem. I am so very sorry that the author knows such grief, and it is evident that it IS known because the inexperienced could not write anything so astute otherwise, IMHO.
Good luck -- the best of luck!

Hello my friend
Nice entry for the Etheree Poem writing prompt contest. Good syllable count. I like the presentation too. A relatable topic. Good luck in the contest.

Lovely Etheree Poem - I admire your ability to write this style of poetry. It must have taken a lot of time to place each word in the correct place, so that it achieved the pyramid format.
But, style aside, let me say how much I was touched by the poem itself. I loved your reflection on tears, and what they accomplish. "...they can wash away love's ashes on a scorched heart" - this is beautiful, poetic writing.
Thank you for sharing this with us, and good luck in the contest.
