Well, I do appreciate you giving me a little reprieve there...but then the dread returned, reading that Mildred is probably back in that Wrong Time. Oy, Sandra. This is starting to give me a math headache. (Math has never been my strong suit. In fact, the joke in our family is that the reason I do what I do for a living is because all the math it requires is the ability to count to four...and I can do that. I'm good at money math [no doubt, a Jewish Thing], but anything abstract --algebra, geometry, trigonometry-- I find unbearable. Every fourth period in high school, I would have to concentrate SOO hard and figure my way through the miasma that was synonymous with problem-solving numbers, that it gave me a massive daily headache.) But, at least with this situation, relief is but another chapter or two away. So I will carry on! Oy!

The conundrum of parallel universes always causes problems in time travel stories, and I'm glad you are exploring it here. I do hope Mildred hasn't gone off into another time, but since things changed drastically, it could be possible.

I'm just glad Veronica made it home.

Hello Sandra,
Another excellent chapter for the book
The timing to bring her back to her own reality is perfect
The Powers finally did something right. lol
Of course, the answer lies not in 1996 but back in WWI
where the door to the alternate reality was opened.
I imagine this is all a little mind-boggling to James.
What a guy, to believe all these fantastic tales and not have Veronica taken away for observation.
One might say the same thing about Graham. lol

Glad I saved a six for this one! Veronica's delight at being reunited with her family is told with such vibrancy. The machinations of 'the powers that be' are still a bit of a mystery to me, and I shall have to go back a bit to see who Mrs Humphries is - I think I may have missed that chapter. You are handling the concept of two parallel times with the skill of a seasoned juggler!

Thank you so much for the six stars, Tony! I've never got one left on a Saturday, so I'm in awe of you and very grateful. Mrs Humphries is the reason Veronica was first sent back in time. It was the beginning of the Trilogy. She was responsible for having Mrs Humphries put into a nursing home so her boss could knock her cottage down and build a Spa club. That's when the Powers decided to teach her a lesson and put Veronica in Mrs Humphries body to live parts of her life. Veronica was so full of guilt when she saw what the poor lady had been put through. The powers brought her back before the deed was done, and that's how she also met Mildred, who was Mrs Humphries maid. Unfortunately, after Veronica had managed to save the cottage, Mrs Humphries died in hospital of a heart attack. It was a nice ending, because Veronica got to see Mrs Humphries reunited with her late husband who was killed in the war. It was at that time that Veronica met James, he was the doctor looking after Mrs Humphries.

Phew! I hope that makes it easier for you to follow. The first and second book in the series has been published, but this one I'm going to send around the agents. Having tried for the first book and told that no publisher will take on a new author unless they are guaranteed at least three books, I'm hoping this time I might stand a chance. If not, I will publish it myself anyway.

That must be so hard on her, timewarping back and forth like that, flipping bewtween two worlds not knowing if, when she'll see her family again. Now that mildred is gone I have a feeling things are going to get a whole lot worse. The story is very well-written, interesting, the characters, their action, diaolgue, emotions draws you right in to the story. Great job as always.
