I love this and I immediately identified with it because I have a journal with roses pressed in it. Reading it brings back memories of when I was 13 and of the happy times with my family. The roses were placed in it four years later when I met my soulmate. Thanks for a lovely poem.

Hello, Zanya.
The lovely red rose consistently conjures up visages of romance and love. I don't any believe other flower does it in quite the same way.
Having said that, I thought your 5-7-5 Valentine's Day poem was well written as well as well presented.

Such a lovely 5-7-5! In addition to the great use of alliteration, I was most struck by the all sensory feeling I got from the poem as the "faded" shows the sight, the rose petals, the sense of smell, the old pages, the sense of touch and the "lifetime melody" calls in the sense of hearing. All these senses are evoked in the memory of the loved one.
