After reading and trying to sing, I think you've written a great piece.
It's just right for children.
The image shown supports the song. The background selected goes well with the art and color of font chosen.
I think this would have made a good contest entry.

This poem talks about a freedom of a sort. The freedom to follow the road that unites with other roads and ends in a muddle but never really ends. The journey is continuous.
Look for a ship
adrift on the sea;
then, use the wind as a guide.
Away, away, away somewhere--
follow, follow the road.
One stays behind, the other keeps following the road in front.
