I found it hard to put the rhythm to the words just reading them but when I played it, I thought it all worked quite well. Some of these preachers in their fancy mansions fool a lot of the people most of the time I think. Good luck in the contest, mikey
cheers,

Oh my land, Mav this is an exceptional poem, and so young too. The recording is also uplifting and vibrant!! Great guitar work and vocals.
sleep throught (through) the sermon
I also agree church and state should be separate for the very reason too much partisan behaviour is involved. I think a brand new executive removed that separation. Hagee should be ashamed of himself likening one president to satan and another to God, like he really has the inside scoop on that, but I'm sure a lot of his congregation believes he does. That's just nasty and also not true, but Mr. Hagee has definitely made himself a very rich man from doing it.
Super good and I'm encouraged to learn this was recorded in your wild and crazy youth. HAAA.
Love this.

It's funny, Ange. I used to tune in to Hagee for the laughs. Then I discovered the incredible influence he and his ilk have over the electorate and suddenly it wasn't funny anymore. The shots of his congregation, all glassy-eyed and nodding their heads in agreement to his every word is chilling indeed. He says, "Vote for Trump, he is the chosen one", and believe me, that is exactly what they do and nothing will deter them. AND Hagee is NOT a blathering fool like Jones. He's funny, entertaining and smart.
Well, I'm pleased you somehow found this little piece I tried to sneak into my portfolio. It IS nice to hear some sweet words and approval. :)) Weird, I always add that "T" onto "through", a reflex. I usually catch it, but not always....
Thanks so much
Mav

This is a great poem Michael. You did a super job at 14. I like the presentation--the color scheme, the rhymes, the smooth flow, & the message, too. Sleeping through last years' sermon was a great line. Your notes are true, too. Thanks for sharing. It is easy to see how music & words are a part of your life. Good job. Jan
