hahahahaha!!! So loved that unexpected twist!!! ...and even more, that you gave no inkling of it until it was read!!! I am sure (by reading these as you go) that you are becoming more confident in your writing for children!!! And so you should!!! Bravo, my friend!!!

As it turns out, Thomas and Lewis are two of the top ten names in Trinidad/Tobago. I was going to have Lewis Lewis, but then Lakeesha and her lips came to mind so I decided to do Thomas Thomas and throw Lewis in for good measure. I am happy to have made you laugh. Your sixth made me smile. - Wendy

Giggle. So, it seems that the child's problem isn't with having a double name, but he isn't fond of Thomas! As always, you wove the tale well and gave us a surprise ending. Thank you for sharing,
~patty~

This is amusing, Wendy. I enjoyed reading it. Well written and illustrated. Thomas Thomas. I like it. A friend's friend had a daughter. Their last name was Lear. They named the little girl, Shanda--thus Shanda Lear. Go figure. Marilyn

Good morning Marilyn. Some parents should be shot. I knew a Kelly Green and a Rocky Pebbles. I'm glad you got a giggle. - Wendy

Hi Wendy. It makes a person wonder if the couple didn't have a child just to hang a ridiculous name on the kid.

Oh, and I forgot, I also new a Sandy Beech
and Kelly Green's sister's name was Olive. Gheesh.

LOL oh I love the ending. The whole piece made me smile but when I read the new name he chose, it is absolutely precious. Very well done. Light and lively

Oh, you had me smiling all the way through this one, Wendy! This is soOOO cute, and clever. I love the humor in this write. Funny enough that he wants to change his name, but to change it to another name that's the same front to back is just priceless! This is a terrific poem for kids. I love it too! ~ ~ Connie

Thanks so much Connie, I really appreciate the encouragement of the sixer. Thomas and Lewis are in the top ten surnames in the Trinidad/Tobago duality. At first if I was going to do a Lewis Lewis - then Lakisha and her lips popped up, so I decided to use Lewis and Thomas in one. - Wendy

That was a cute poem. It made me smile, because when my son was a child he wanted to change his name to " Bob Dillon" and now he is about to be 19 in 7 days..As of yet he hasn't changed his name lol. :) My daughter as of late has been going by one of her two middle names.... I am wondering if she'll make it a permanent change, she will be 18 tomorrow... :) Just memories
Enjoyed the poem.
Annie

Hi Annie and thank you for taking a peek at one of my alphabet kids. My daughter changes the spelling of her name on a whim - and she's 42. Go figure. My son went from Tommy to Tom to Thomas. Neither of them ever considered Lewis Lewis though. I'm glad you liked the poem and hope you get a chance to peek at the other alphabet kids I have finished. Only about five to go. - Wendy

Hi Wendy,

He could be trendy and just make it "Thomas". Stylish like Prince or Beyoncé (does she have a last name? lol) This was a cute story of the boy with two names the same. Is his middle name Thomas, too? lol Lewis is a funny choice for a change, although, much less mainstream than Thomas, for sure.

Great job on your entertaining children's rhyme.

Kim

Hi Kim. I'm kinda sure that stylish isn't in his sights. Thomas and Lewis are two of the top ten surnames in Trinidad/Tobago.
I finally decided on Thomas Thomas as the best fit for with the other two T's. I then decided to sneak Lewis Lewis in too for a bit of a giggle. I'm glad you liked it. - Wendy
