What better place to plonk my last six stars for the week? Great spoof on 'I Love a Sunburnt Country'! Perfect laid back Aussie style and I'll bet you made our American friends jealous! I'd probably have reviewed this sooner, but I was at the cricket!

Hi Tony, So many thanks for your fabulous sixer for my Tongue in cheek Sunburn't Country. ( I love McKellas meter and I find it fun to 'redo these poems. I also love Banjo's meter and have done a couple on his meter also.) I hope you enjoyed the cricket my husband is a devotee . Yes I hope our American friend enjoyed this one also and of course we are in the best country in the world. Cheers Christine 😃👍👍

What a great poem to introduce someone to why Australia is special. There is a bit of humor intertwined with a sincere respect for the people described and the place they share.

How I wish I had six stars for you!!! I LOVE the patriotic strength of this! I feel this way about America, I just love it!!! Tell me...what is 'Vegemite?' I heard it in that song, 'Land down Under'...but never knew. This poem makes me want to visit Australia! Blessings....

G'day Irish Rain You lovely review and virtual six stars are welcomed I am so glad you liked this and yes we can be very parochial at times but patriotic LOL
Vegemite is a thick dark brown Aussie invented spread made from left over brewers yeast extract with various vegetable and spices. it is slightly salty, slightly bitter, malty and rich in vitamin B it has a flavor like beef bullion.it is still produced in Melbourne and sell 22 million jars a year. tI does not contain fat or added sugar or animal content. ,
Most Australian households would have a jar in their cupboards and all Aussie children usually grow up eating vegemite on toast. I love it but it is an acquired taste and most 'foreigners don't like it LOL.
I would love to send you a jar
Cheers Christine

Comment from The Cowboy Poet
The love you have for Australia is very evident. I like the flow of the poem. It's very smooth and easy to read. Your use of rhyming couplets was well done. Often when rhyming couplets are used, the poem sounds "sing-song" and forced. Yours don't. Very well done. Cowboy

Well written. This flows easily. The rhyme is natural - every word seems to fit naturally like a puzzle piece. I like imagery that you show here. Great job.
