The writing is exquisite, Anuapam. The flow of thought and depth of perception are eloquently relayed and easily understood by the reader. It is an insightful read and easily attains to the level and caliber needed to attain a seal. So well done.

Thank you for bringing this one back! So appropriate for the times with so many facing death. Your deep message of light at the end of death's tunnel is worth believing in.
Again thank you for posting. Miss seeing you here! xoxo

Thanks for your kind comments and glowing stars, Diana. I appreciate your comments.
Hope you're doing well. I don't find much time to be active here now. Weekends get wasted on Netflix. :P
Regards,
Anupam

Your free verse poem is vividly descriptive and thought-provoking. Death plays around the corners of our minds, prodding us to realize what must be done before he takes us. I like the progression from dark to light and hope.

Hello, The Death... Do you want to know what to expect when Death comes knocking at your door? I can tell you! I can, I can, I really, really, can! I found out last month, on the night of the 7th. If you want to know what awaits... just read the Author's notes in one of the poems I wrote from around then... either Farewell or Sweet Release. It was truly an amazing experience... no, I didn't have a 'near-death experience'.

I really like this poetic expression :"waltzing with waves of air--
to embrace my vulnerability
through silent diffusion
of inner shrapnel." it has a certain cadence and rhythm and it's a break free from the usual monotony and stillness that accompanies death.

A chilling write and when we have our calling and death takes our body, soul and spirit, we have no choice but to go with it and let the living live and the dying die, a poignant write, love Dolly x

I thought this was so very powerful and well-written. My only suggestion would be that it could be a bit shorter and perhaps be even more effective. For instance, you might be able to leave out the next-to-last stanza and still retain all the meaning. I do love the alliteration that occurs throughout, i.e., "life reciprocates light..." Perhaps there are some lines you could do without, i.e, "or anyone else;" or "so as to be prepared..." Still, I congratulate you on your win here. This is a very effective poem.

Hi Anupam,
Wow! What an exploration into the effects of death. Loved the alliterative phrase of, "...like a sooty flame, waltzing with waves of air." Sweet!
I was impressed with the detailed thought and insights of each verse.
I believe death is simply a new beginning into a life of energy and enlightenment. However, in the that state, it may have been an advantage to understanding the complexities of a physical life, also.
Heady stuff, my friend,(smile)...looks like a solid write.
Best of luck with your entry! Bill
Hope all is well with you. We just went through a series of storms over the weekend that knocked out our power and phones for days! Everything is finally back to normal, thank goodness.

This is superb. I know many view death as a dark subject, but I have never feared death as it is a necessary part of life. I love the uplifting ending. You are a true genius with deep subjects like this. I enjoyed this from beginning to end. It read so smoothly and kept my full attention all the way through. As I said, superb work with this one and I sincerely wish you all the best.
