A good poem Dean, and well written and illustrated I enjoyed reading your poem. The theme of your poem was well chosen
And a good read. The illustration was excellent and I can't praise you enough for them. I found no reason to suggest changes. Thanks for sharing. HAPPY NEW YEAR. MARY

Thank you very much, Mary Ann. No recommended changes is usually a very good thing for me, LOL.
Happy New Year to you & yours!

You have a smooth flow of rhyming words and clear images are created in this poem that show the horror form. My subjects are animals and fantasy,it is so wonderful that we all have different themes in our writing. Happy New Year.

Hi Dean
Thanks for scaring the daylights out of me all year. Before I read your work I was not a real fan of horror ... now you own my soul and last breath ... addicted to the absinthe of your words, my reveries are often freaking freaking out. In the middle of night's seal I once felt safe ... NO MORE. I always seem to come across what Dean has in store. I hear rattles of chains, and creaks of old ghost ships, my hairs rise on the nape of my neck, as shivers curse down my spine... blood spurts before my eyes as wicked villains seek my demise.
I once dreamed of daffodils and gently trickling streams, now nightmares consume even in my waking hours. I thought Brooke's dandelion poems would be enough to ward you off. But alas no, I identify with that image as one of your infinite followers for eternity.
This one line sounds a little out of meter to me: "Worlds of depravity and sin." Of course not having acquired the status of a meter maid ... I may be wrong. Happy New Year, or a bloody, cursed New Year, whichever. :)) Hugs - Lovi xoxo

Heh-heh-heh..., well, thanks so much, Lovi, my dear. I do appreciate the fact that you have supported my work so faithfully over the course of this past year, especially knowing that horror isn't exactly your preferred genre of choice. I have always felt that beauty exists everywhere -- even in the deepest, ebony darkness. Have you ever seen a sky filled with twinkling, shimmering diamond-like stars on a sunny day? No. It takes a complete, utter lack of light to be able to appreciate them.
Thanks so much again, and pleasant screams now, and in 2015 as well.

Thanks, Jane, and you're very kind. It does try to explain a few things about why I feel compelled to do what it is I do.
I sincerely appreciate your kind and thoguhtful review. :)

It's very important to write about the things that interest and excite you if not I don't see how a writer could be successful. You are great at what you do and have chilled and thrilled many readers.
This poem is delightfully haunting and gives a great look inside at what drives you. Excellent work here and I wish you much more success to come in 2015.

Beautifully dark. The ability to send chills down the readers spine is a very worthwhile gift. This was wonderfully well written and summed up what horror writing should be about.

A horror writer you are indeed, sir. A more than capable proponent too.
Every time you hook me in whether it is the poetry or the prose.
I too have voices within me aching to get out but thankfully they are more liveable with, for me!
Another superlative piece of work.
but surely this should be classified as autobiographical.

Surely indeed, Gareth. LOL. And please, don't call me "sir". I work for a living, heh-heh...
All kidding aside, I sincerely appreciate your comments and review. Thanks for taking the time to read it and weigh in.
Have a very safe, happy and prosperous New Year in 2015. :)

Dean: your words a scary enough . . . this picture is so creepy I'm afraid it will be on my pillow when I go to bed tonight! I hope no one is complaining about your horror stories. Not everyone can write them well and you are the master. I'm trying to imagine you and Stephen King co-writing some spooky thing . . . I would probably never be able to sleep again! You keep doing what you do best. Your fans, including me, will be there for you. Linda
