In every species there are those who work and those who destroy. Good topic of choice. Perfect syllable count for the structure. good luck in the contest

A subtle metaphor that very few here will understand. Wonderfully put. Ironic that this strain of bee is a result of man's medling. All the workers dead leaving nothing but killers. Yep, extiction.

Killer bees are a problem. We tend to have hornets where l live or Sterchils as we call them here. They look like killer bees. One sting though and it does mean hospital in most cases. However, these big guys are just nosey and like to hang around and l guess would only attack if defending their life. Now killer bees, guess that is another story. Actually killing the worker bees.... those that really work hard, give us that delicious honey and build beautiful hies... that is another story. A good subject for this Haiku-insects. Really enjoyed reading this though it did make me really sad as bees in some parts of the world are dying off. Good luck in the contest. Genya

Meets the parameters of the contest. Nice image. It' less than 17 syllables. Once a queen killer bee gets past the drones, she can set up shop. A queen killer bee larvae develops quicker than a domestic honeybee. It's young eats the honeybee larvae taking over the hive. There are few hives around here. I don't get close enough to find out what kind of bees they are. Good luck in the contest. Count your doubloon. Spook-a-Doo

This is a sad commentary. Look what mankind gets when they fool with nature. The wonderful honey bee destroyed by a hybrid we created. Excellent and timely theme. Good luck in the contest.

With so few words in use, I find "killer" and "killing" overkill, so to speak.
A second line such as ... "Bye-bye honey bees" an improvement

I didn't realize bees kill bees. They have enough to worry about with all the insecticides being used, they don't need killer bees taking them out..
Well done with your entry, Buck

stunning presentation of your 3/5/3 haiku
good alliterative grouping of hard C sounds in all three lines
and what a horrific visual you create with ominous undertones :-) Brooke

We have heard that bees are becoming rarer, which is very sad, we need to pollenate our flowers. I don't know the cause but the thought of killer bees is pretty awful. Well chosen words to convey your message, and very apt image to compliment your poem. Good luck in the contest. Faye
