Hi Carolyn,

Hey, how did I miss this one? I love the message in this poem. Gorgeous artwork.

I've leaned toward cremation for a long time. "Dust to dust, ashes to ashes." Seems pretty clear-cut to me.

Great job on this one.

Cheers & Blessings

Thanks Jax, I have a clearer concept of cremation now that I did before, glad you liked the message. I appreciate your fine comments. :-) Carolyn

His name I'll praise forever
For it's to Him I've been restored

Hello Carolyn, why are you so sad, you wrote a wonderful poem representing our Beloved Jesus. So faithful is your poem, so near to Him are you, and May He bless you and keep you happy, and healthy. Beautiful is that poem. Love Terry xoxo

Hi there, I am not sad at all. Just writing that it doesn't matter how we choose to have our earthly bodies memorialized. Either by cremation or burial.
Thank you for your sweet comments.

I have never read a poem about this subject. Once the soul leaves the body, I see no reason to keep the body and have always felt cremation to be the best alternative. I do realize mant do not feel that way. Thank you for selecting this subject, my friend. An honest discussion of death is refreshing as it is a part of life. Love~Debbie

Thank you Debbie for your comments.
You are so right, there has been lots of debate about the choice. I have recently embraced the fact that it is ok either way, it doesn't matter.
    Love you,

Good question. Good answer:
He didn't die for bodies, for that temple
Is just the spirit's dwelling place

So it doesn't matter. The burial place is just an earthly place where the living can visit. A symbol of sorts.

Carolyn;
I found your writing about an urn and being cremated was very enlightening and inspirational. You took a little imagination to be very inventive and ingeniously creative in writing this poem. And the imagery was plain and straightforward and very expressive than descriptive throughout.
Your rhyming was neither force nor labored and your rhyming couplets and I enjoyed reading this style for made it easy to understand and to read.
Thank you so much for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.

Dear Carolyn, this is a well penned and thoughtful piece to ponder. I must admit the costs for funeral services is outrageous. When I was preparing for mine, the total cost just blew my mind some. I always thought the services are for those left behind....a place to pause and reflect of love shared...no matter where or how was is released from this life.
Great writing my friend.
Thanks for sharing.
Love
Maureen

    Thank you Maureen,
Larry and I have also been fortunate, in that we own our plots and are prepared for that day. However, it is getting to be an outrageous expense. I now feel, it doesn't matter.
I so appreciate your affirmation of the piece.
Love you and hope you are doing well.

you are so right, Carolyn. I does not matter. It is our soul that rises and we get a new body. This poem gives a good message for those who have been cremated. Thanks for sharing. Miss Sally

Hi there Carolyn,
I'eve learned in my short 76 years of life,
not to be too vocal about what I would
"never do" or "will do" even if I suffer
for it.

Cremation and working on Sunday were two
of those "bolted in cement" CONVICTION.

Well they sound good when not facing
employment loss and/or financial stress.
Already I have shattered the "never work
on Sunday" CONVICTION; and already Sunshine
have stipulated in our death instructions
we are to be cremated..why?those holes
in the ground too expensive.

So I guess I'm trying to say that I like your
practical poem - write some more.

Question: I'm having a Senior moment, but are
you Red's mother? and if you are, did he
retire from prose writing?

Well as Roy says in his famous song:
"Happy trails to you"
Your Friend
Jerry

    Dear Jerry,
I know what you mean, we already own our grave plots and will use them, but I foresee our children and on down the line going for cremation. Yes, we do change our minds about things.
Who is Red? :-) I'm not related to anyone on the site that I know of, except by a common love for each other. Tell Sunshine hello.
    Your friend, Carolyn

And thank you V. It really makes you think, I view it differently now in my more 'mature' age. We go to almost as many memorials now as we do funerals with viewings. (Most cremations have had private viewings for family and close friends already.)Larry preaches so we, unfortunately, console many, no matter what their choice.) Carolyn
