The wonderful beauty of trees. I love to lie under my trees in vermont and just watch the wind blowing through and the birds flitting around. Trees are wonderful to be near...just like family, cheers judester

Now if I was being really picky, I might quibble with your statement that trees need 'touch', but you poem is so pretty and otherwise true that who can deny you th five stars.
Good luck.

Steve: have you not seen trees with branches which touch other trees, even grow intertwined with other tree branches? I'm sitting at my computer right now, looking out my second story window into trees and see them touching each other all over the place. And, humans are far better people when they learn how to touch each other warmly. Touche'!

Comment from Leineco
trees and leaves alive
need air water sun and touch
just like family
I like the concept here, but truthfully, I had a problem with the wow touch :-( Trees in the wild grow healthy and hearty with never a touch being felt.
on the other hand -
trees and leaves alive
need air, sun and nourishment
just like family
(air to breathe and breathing space;
sun to shine a spotlight on them
and nourishment - water&food for trees;
love and encouragement in families)
But I did like the concept you were presenting :-)

Leineco: excuse me, but I believe that you are wrong. Trees in a forest grow tall with long branches which overlap and touch each other. . .just like families touch each other. As I sit here at my computer, I look out my window and see every tree is touching at least one other tree. My poem stands as written. livelylinda

Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 syllable count
good assonance in trees and leaves and consonance in leaves alive
I like the way you relate the needs of the tree to the way families depend on each other :-) Brooke
