Thank you so much for joining my contest prompt :-)
Everyone did a great job, and I am thrilled with the diverse
ways everyone approached the topic.
Very nice use of simile, comparing the blooming of a human life
to the microcosm of a cherry tree. Interesting, and different approach -
very imaginative use of the prompt :-)
I do need to note though, that your foot note/Author's note sort of butts
against the spirit of the "necessary footnotes only" restriction - explaining
the poem to the reader instead of letting the poem carry it's own water.
Nonetheless - nice write :-)

Thank you.

Dare I mention it? There is an Elephant in the room! Despite the prompt being quite specific; that entries must mention or refer to "Cherry Blossoms" (not blossoms in general) yours fails to do just that.
Such a howling error bodes poorly for the work to be successful in the contest.

Thanks for looking, but I disagree, and here's why:
Exact requirements:
?Any style of poetry is welcome, but it must be at least 8 lines long. ? X
?The idea is for the Cherry Blossoms/Trees to be an element in the poem, but not the primary topic. I?m looking for more than ?aren?t the flowers pretty? poetry, or long drawn out descriptive passages delineating their delicate beauty? X
?Metaphor and simile are always enthusiastically welcome ? X
Please feel free to re-read the guidelines and re-evaluate.
Thank you.

Actual wording of the guidelines has been cut and pasted below:-
Writing Prompt
Write a poem (any style - minimum 8 lines) that contains the words or makes reference to Cherry Blossom(s)
Can't be more specific than that!
All other entries adhered to this verbatim.

Quite lovely. I enjoyed the comparison of man and his life unfolding and the tree blossoming. Excellent imagery. Best of luck in the contest.

Yes there is a real similarity in most from s life in Nature. It speaks both to a common origin and perhaps a common creator, who used a perfect blueprint as the foundation for a life cycle. Well done.
