I like this one. My cat brings me dead gifts also: Lizards, snakes, small birds, and of course, mice. Nice entry. Thanks for posting and good luck in the contest.

Like another similar pet entry in this contest, this isn't witty to me -- it's more like real life drama! You've delivered a bittersweet fact of life, living with a cat that's a good hunter. Good kitty! But now get rid of that thing! *smile* Thanks for sharing.

Hi, the humor is this poem is to do with the fact that humans do not like their cats to bring in his catch for his owner to be proud of him, but most cats get told off. But if you cannot see it as humorous, it is your prerogative. thanks for the review.

I think your poem is very funny, but not so much "witty" . . . to me, "witty" means you've twisted words cleverly to get the laugh. Your poem is straightforward & funny. Not a bad thing at all.

I agree with you, It does not have a twist, Mary

An excellent three lines poem with a suggestive illustration. You should consider developing the title in such a way to have the cat mentioned if you would need to use this poem without the picture. For instance Mouse gift or something like this.

We had a dog who brought "gifts" onto the porch every morning. Yes, definately, I was ungrateful.
Very well done.

Holy hell, where did you find my cat!?? It's not so much the way he looks that gave him away. Nope, it was the 'tude that caused me to recognize him. Poor little Sylvester. I hope he's okay...
Good luck to ya!

A cat with its kill. They are so proud of it, aren't they? They expect to get credit and praise when they finally catch a mouse. LOL! Smart cat!
I enjoyed the poem. Good luck in the contest.

Very funny! And accurate! We had a cat who would catch a mouse, play with it, and then give it to her sister to finish it off! But, now that our cats are gone, I have to catch them myself ... I would have been very greatful with the gift your friend presented!
Anyway, this is a lovely 5-7-5 presentation ... clever and funny!
