I liked the presentation very much.
Good alliteration in "wretched witched wake" also I had to smile at "wretched witches" - they sound miserable indeed. I enjoyed your poem beginning to end.

Dean: There you go, showing off again! I am now looking forward to seeing your name attached to these Halloweenie poems/music/scary pictures. Anything less than what you produce is a minor notation. Fabulous job as usual, my man. livelylinda

Thanks so much, Linda, what a nice thing to say! When I get discouraged from someone giving me a poor review because I have included music or sounds and animations with my poems, I step back and think of reviews just like yours, and smile a little. Because it is for people just like yourself that I do this for.
Thanks again, my friend, I truly appreciate it!

I still prefer the wart nosed, pointy hat cauldron card calling witch. I like that scare they put into me. This was another great creative look into our odd world. You seem to have a knack for digging into the strange stuff and coming up with gold. Nicely done.

Thanks very much for that wonderful compliment, GW...I think, ha ha!
I prefer the old hags, too. The one on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs used to scare the bejeezus outta me as a kid!
I am very grateful for your comments, and for the great review...thanks!

Spooky and scary. Are there witches not sure, but Satan is real. There are ghosts I have seen them or you can call them spirits, that walk our Earth and live among us. Your author notes are always very interesting.

Thanks baustian64, I really appreciate the fabulous review!
Yes, there are all sorts of spirits that live amongst us, not all of them malevolent, yet many entities, such as those of a demonic nature, also exist. I too have seen spirits. Once while playing around in an old cemetery, my friends and I were confronted by a bright orange orb, about the size of a basketball. The thing came whooshing at us fast, moving right through the gravestones. Then, once we were safely out, we turned around and there at the gate stood a tall man, dressed in a old suit, complete with a top hat. He was lined on both sides by at least fifty or more cats, who sat motionless...just staring at us. I never forget that to this very day!

How could you forget a thing like that. My dad bought my mom an organ and she loved to play it. One night coming home in the car I saw her playing it. I called my dad and asked who was playing the organ and he said nobody. But I know what I saw.

The sound effects were perfect for Halloween. I agree with you about the witches, they have been around forever and some of them do good things. We have a place here in Florida called Casadega and people can go and buy amulets and stones and have their fortunes told. A fun trip. Thanks so much for sharing.

Huh, that's interesting, Linda. Casadega...sounds like a place I might like to visit sometime.
Thanks for the wonderful review on this one, and for the heads-up on a possible future vacation destination, LOL...

It's just a small town not far from Daytona Beach. Not much to look at really, but fun for a short visit.

Sounds great to me!

A great Halloween poem with choices as to the depth
of effects you want to feel.(sound effects)
Just the right amount of darkness and unrest for a scaredy
cat like me.Lol.
An amazing presentation and a pleasure to read.

I love the lilt of humour to this wonderfully spooky halloween piece. It truly would not be halloween without an atmospheric Dean Kuch piece. Your work always imparts such a strong sense of flavour with its strong rhyme and awesome presentation. I enjoyed this, very much.
Kindest of regards,

Six good stanzas in abcb form. Not too scary as you say. Unlike some of your 'bloody' stories (take that the right way) as always accompanied by a brilliant picture. 'Should vampire's kiss fill your heart with bliss' - I think not. As usual a good poem with perfect display. Regards Dorothy
