Thank you Michael for sharing this with your fans, myself and other readers/writers. Your Palm is very good in many ways however some of the context and concept by should I say the topic varies in a way that it shoots in so many directions. If I take each first the way it is, it's a separate topic which is very good, then you mean that means you have many topics in one poem. I like that. The rhyming is done very well and neither of the rhymes are strained, labor or forced. The rhythm is done so well in this poem that it makes it very easy for me to read your poem. You have a good one and God bless.

You know what Mike? With all the writing I have done and all the music I have listened to- I have never put the two together and written a song. I often have a tune in mind while I'm writing, I don't know why... You have inspired me.
Thank you my friend

Oh how true that is. I often am practically singing some of your pieces. I had an experience like this. I have this really involved story about Trednogs which are creatures that communicate only by song. it never occurred to me that I could write the songs or even what they might sound like. my friend played me and Enya song and said "I think this might be what your Trednogs would sound like." I almost cried. I just never made that connection in my mind even though both things were in there in such an active way. My God! I am a writer and a musician. How could I miss that connection. I know you could write some great songs. Go for it! mikey

Enjoyed reading your poem about a struggling person, who wishes to be set free from his boring surroundings,as he notices a lone sparrow who chose to stay behind to endure the chill of winter.

Mike, another terrific poem from your pen.

Many junctures in life require help from not just ourselves, but from those of others. Even the tiniest of us, like the sparrow, need a helping hand. Your song lyrics bore this out so very well.

Bravo on a great write, my friend

A sit gets to summer now I love listening to the songs of birds early in the morning. They always sound so happy to be alive and inspires me to be more thankful for everything I have and stop dreading that which I dont. Another great poem.

Yes, fitting the music is important for song lyrics!. This has some lovely lines, Mike. I love 'waiting for a breeze/ borrowed from the trees', and the first verse is just beautiful. Very well done.

Nice poem. Can't remember seeing sparrows around much these days. Mainly the noisy Mynah birds and Bamagpies and pigeons etc. We do get the odd couple of Galah's with the white tops of their heads pink and grey in other places.

oh my! A Galah or Rose Breasted as we call them goes for three thousand dollars over here and your noisy Mynah birds about a thousand a piece. hahaha. if I ever visit I will be chasing them all over the country side!! I shall bring all the Sparrows you could ever want. the words are a pretty nice song actually. mike

feeling and knowing what you are going to go ahead and do is going to cause you regret in the end but you feel you must flee from the realm of reality into the unknown the bird will see you on your way
