Hi Bev. It's Monday morning and I am settling in with my laptop to read your chapters. I am hooked on this story and it will be a pleasure to have an enjoyable read this morning. My laptop plays tricks on me so let me know if my rating doesn't work out. I accidentally gave someone a 3 star the other day. I never give below 5 stars. Also, the "s" key doesn't always work. If I miss any, you will understand I am sure. The laptop allows me to rest while I am reading and save back pain.

So Darcy is responsible for Chet losing his job.
Very interesting that they not onlu know each other, but have worked together in the past.
I don't think he did it. It would almost be too obvious, especially with the addition of the niece. They may know something that can help with the investigation. I don't think the niece is that innocent, never did!
Sorry it took me so long to get caught up, Bev...

This is a very well-written piece, and even though I haven't read too much of the previous chapters, it stands well on its own merit as a stand-alone work -- the mark of a well-constructed chapter in any book.
Great dialogue, both inner and outer and strong, believable characters.
When the reader comes to the end, it leaves them wanting to turn the page and read more right away.
well done. keep going...
cheers

Yhis is the first I have read of this which makes it a bit difficult to review. You seem to have a good story, set the scene well and have good character development. Good luck with the rest of your book!!! Debbie

ok - you have me hooked - now I need to go back and catch up! You move the story along nicely, taking time to set the scene ... ("sunlight oozing under the window" is great)and give the precise details that really bring the scenes to life ... dialogue moves the story forward too - go for it!
