Enjoyed how mummy mouse was able to have some much needed rest and relaxation. She had gotten her two little ones off to school, kissed her hubby goodbye, made supper and cleaned house. Phew! Who wouldn't enjoy a few hours at the beach.Good word choice and rhyme scheme made your story poem flow.

Thank you, pattipac! I was so pleasantly surprised to see Mummy Mouse, again. It is a bit weird though, I did a book reading in an infants school today and read this one as well as a few other to them, and then to find you had read it was quite something! Thank you so much for the lovely review, I am really pleased you enjoyed it. xx Sandra

I can't believe how much I enjoyed that. Of course, I wasn't thinking mouse, I was thinking me! You have managed to create a secret, magical day out for a busy mum who seriously deserves a bit of R&R. I had to laugh at the guilt trip she had which resulted in her promising to bring the children at the weekend.
Another perfectly penned story, written in excellent rhyme. Alexis x

OOOhh! Every mummy needs a day out but we always feel sooo guilty but if we share what we found to be fun then it's okay, right? Ha! Thouroughly enjoyed your lighthearted poem. Made me smile.

excellent rhyming couplets
and good steady cadence when read aloud
I love that the mother of the family is taking some "me" time to pamper herself
vivid descriptive detail
good alliteration in Mummy had made
I love how this mother finds a way to share her good time with her family while still having her private time :-) Brooke

Sandra,
This was perfect and kept my attention from first to last word. The storyline is fantastic and true to life. Mummy Mouse sat(,) upon the hot sand may be the only correction I see (trust me I am no genious when it comes to corrections).
Nicely done... John

Thank you, John. No, you are right, must go in and remove that. I seem to have had a love affair with the comma and the full stop lately!! Thank you for reviewing this, and for enjoying it. xsx

This was fun to read. Rhymed well and had a steady flow to it that would keep a child's interest and make it fun to read to them. You could ask questions about it afterwards about what they think their mums do when they are at school etc; You can really get their imagination going with a book like this. Alex :)

Thank you, Alex, I never thought of that! It would make a good book, writing the idea's they would come up with! I can imagine they would be far, far out with their responses! I am pleased you enjoyed this one. Thank you. xsx

I'm sure they would come up with some very interesting responses too hahaha If i am in the room with the older children 3-5 years. I always ask what they think of the book we have just read, what they would do etc. They are so imaginative :)

Aww, I think Mummy is a very smart mouse! Getting away and having some time for herself, thinking ahead to take her family there, and then enjoying the life she has at home! Good story for the moms who might be reading it to their little ones. The little ones will enjoy it, hearing about the water and splashing, the sand and shells.
I love reading your stories. I don't think anyone read stories to me when I was little, so I seem to enjoy reading them to myself now. I hope that doesn't sound goofy, but there you have it.

Dear Sue, how could I possible think you are 'goofy'? Why do you think I write them! I have an 85 year old male fan, (my Uncle!!) and bless him, he didn't have them as a child either. Your reviews mean so much to me, I really mean than. Thank you so much! xsx
