This is absolutely beautifu. Yes we cannot live in the past nor can we only live in the present. But, sometimes it is necessary to escape at least for a few moments and experience release from our burdens. Odor does transport you. Reserve me a seat on your dream bus.

Icarus travel agency - The only one without a precise time of arrival or departure. Now that is an interesting concept. One that I could use right now since I could use a vacation but don't have the time, etc.
This story was well written and show that you have a good imagination. Great job.

I certainly do not want to dwell in the past, but I would not rid myself of my memories, both good and bad, which make up the fabric of my life and which contain all those events and people that make up who I am, for anything. This is a most thought-provoking essay and should certainly start many a fascinating conversation - I love the Icarus travel agency imagery. Brooke :-)

I loved your little flash memoir. Girl, are you and I the only two who have read Remembrance of Things Past It was a struggle, but at some point I took it as a major challenge.
I suddenly thought of my own olfactory reverie. [A line to be proud of!]
Well done, friend.

Check out "The Dream Dispensary" in my portfolio one day when you have the chance! This was great, as always. "thought of my own olfactory reverie. I wanted to slip through the private door between reality and dreams and weave fresh thoughts, overlap the old ones" I loved it
Sorry about the headache, but it brought on a great write!

Interesting and thought provoking piece. I had to reread it several times to make sure I caught everything.
Your line about starting a dream travel agency really stirred my mind and got me wandering off into my own world of thoughts.
Good luck in the contest. Great job.

I found this a particularly creative thought: "Maybe I should start a dream travel agency. The only one without a precise time of arrival or departure." Best of luck to you, Jeanie Mercer

That could be our greatest gift, the ability to perfect recall, then again in some cases, depending on the memories could be a binding noose around our necks. Sometimes, as I've said in the past: the hardest prison to escape from, is the one created in our minds...

Without those wonderful memories, what would life be like. I prefer to keep all mine, and dream my dreams by myself. Well done.
