This is absolutely lovely, Chris. The flow and rhyme slide down the page like fine silk. And the words are so true. I personally liked the use of Tomes. Gave it an old worldly feel of foreverness. Lovely presentation and a smasher to go into your anthology. Excellent and no nits. Joyce

Thanks so much Joyce. It is a simple poem meant as an intro, so I'm glad you found it enjoyable! Hugs and sloppy kisses xoxoxoxxoo

Thanks buddy! Didn't know what to do with this really, so posted it up. It's in with some poems for which I've applied for a Seal. I'm keepin' fingies crossed ... missed out last time! xoxoxoxoxoxoxxo

Hey Chris. I think this is wonderful opening poem for your book, "Tomes". We are blessed to have the gift of word-crafting and I agree with you, that it is a blessed legacy to leave. Excellent piece.

Thankyou so much Judian. I reckon some of us Fanstory poets ought to put together a book with one only of our best works as a Fanstory Anthology! Whaddya think? Might be hard choosing though!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Great poem that has much meaning to us all. I love the loose interpretation of the meaning is used here. Well written and very enjoyable. Can't wait for more. Thanks, Jeanette

Thanks so much Jeanette! It's actually an intro to an Anthology already in my portfolio with poems I've written already. I've applied for a seal of quality on some of them, so hence the re-organisation of them! Hopefully I'll get there this time! xoxoxoxoxoxo

People can't understand why I keep books I have already read. I should tell them to read your poem. I keep them everywhere. Great read. joan marie

Books should always be kept, especially if they're hard backed! I do get rid of paperbacks, but some I refuse to part with, so am a bit like you! Besides, books never date and are always there to be read. Thanks again my friend! xoxoxoxoxo

Soft backs if they are authors I like. Others my friend and I used to go to a used bookstore and trade them. jm

Yep, done that too! Trading books is a great way to get them if one has a tight budget. I still do this now, although most of the time, I simply go in to the second hand book shop and buy two or three books, rather than just one new one! xoxoxoxoxo

Hi, Cwis
I wouldn't ave a clue whether you were 'loosely' usin it or not as it's a newy on me, so I 'excuse' ya.
Wonderful flow which sings along. Loved the sentiments an particular 'writers live forever', though I'm callin it a day when I reach 150. ;-). Love, Ray xx

Oh, I thought I'd call it a day when I got to 100. Guess if I give up the fags I might make it to 150 ... nah, I'd be too old and borin' by then, probably dribbling all over the paper I try to write on ...

Thanks as always my fine friend! MWAH!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Thanks so much Teri! It really is an "opening" for an Anthology, so hence its sort of open-iness kinda whatever!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Well done! You have maintained a steady rhyme and rhythm throughout. The poem flows easily along. So many truths are expressed in your poem - 'words like pearls', "a soul has a gift to give', 'writers live forever' I enjoyed reading your poem

Thanks TinyTeena. As paintings do, so writer's work lives on forever. I'm glad you liked the introduction of my Anthology! xoxoxoxoxo

A "Gallery of Tomes". 'Very interesting,' he said, trying to emulate a German accent. If the font was a little larger I wouldn't need to squint. But apart from my ocular deficiencies, it looks great.

Sorry you had to squint my friend! I am happy you appreciated the intro to my Anthology, despite your ocular difficulties. Strange, but font size looks okay on my screen, but maybe it's the magnified specs I'm wearin' ... xoxoxoxoxxo
