I was hoping go put my boots away this weekend. It snowed this morning! I will be glad to kiss winter goodbye. But he's dragging his feet. I enjoyed your hopeful post though.

HI Dovemarie
This nicely done cinquain shows a lovely sentiment that I wish was true. It seems like every time a little green shows, a little more snow comes. I can't wait until snow is totally out of the forecast. It should be soon, but there has been snow on Mother's Day here occasionally.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi well said. It is not that I hate winter, it had not been so bad this season but the cold and the changesin temperature affect old people easily.specially at night when heating has gone and temperature drops. On the other had I would prefer Spring and Summer. There is more freedom more latitude.
Good write though.

Winter's departure(hurrah) is effectively portrayed here in fine detail especially in 'Green patches appearing,' isn;t it wonderful to get a 'taste' of the new season?

Beautiful chapter for your book. I love the description you give of cold, sharp, pinprick rains! I get goosebumps just reading that and can picture the exact feeling that comes with those rains! thanks for sharing.

Hi Donna!
Your cinquain poem is in perfect syllable count. I truly hope it is your last snow. We are still snowing here. It seems we are both writing of snow today!

We just had some snow where I live yesterday. Some places in the state had an accumulation but not where I live. Spring doesn't usually show up here until the end of April beginning of May. I like how you describe the rain. It is so true that the drops are sharp. Enjoyed the read. Hopefully spring will finally be there for you.

-Very nice artwork and presentation.
-It makes me cold thinking of snow;
however, temperatures haven't been spring like.
-A well written cinquain with a good topic.
-Effective imagery, along with alliteration.
-A very good line describing the rain.
-Good opening and closing lines, as well.
-Best wishes for Napowrimo.

I can truly appreciate how much you welcome Spring and applaud Winter's retreat. Seeing those "green patches" Will put a smile on anyone's face. I liked the how you begin and end your poem with LAST, to emphasize finality. Rod
