Excellent start, Carol, and I'm already hooked. Of course it was Jack that was the good Samaritan. The lady was lucky he was sitting in the cafe as she walked past. So now the story starts, and I'm going to be reading it. Well done, my friend. I'm off to read Lori's chapter now. Love you. :)) Sandra xxxx

This is an excellent first chapter. I could feel her tension rising as she walked down the street. I look forward to Lori's chapter two. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Carol,

This is an amazing beginning to your book. The reader could feel the tension in the story. That women was very lucky that someone took out the man. I think this is going to be an amazing book.

Well done my friend

I hope you will be able to follow the switching of authors and keep enjoying the story. It's a difficult but fun endeavor to follow someone elses ideas on the same story. I so appreciate the stars and your confidence in me.

I can't imagine living in a place where gun shots are heard Carol. Your story starts with a crime and then follows through with the investigation as this city never sleeps and there is always a crime to solve, a poignant story, love Dolly x x x

Unfortunately, eve though I live about 90 miles from Chicago, their crime is over flowing into our city and it's terrifying. Nothing like the quiet town it once was.

As always, you leave us anxiously awaiting the next chapter. Of course, that's what good writers are supposed to do. In my lifetime of reading, there have only been about five writers who give enough description, one that gave too much, and hundreds who don't describe enough. You're in that five, my dear. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, you made my heart sing...probably off key but no one is here to know that. LOL How kind of you to say such awesome things about me. Thank you so much. I feel the same about your writing....that you don't do enough of.

I always like to keep people waiting. If I do it too much, it will just become old hat and end up on a shelf with dust and spider webs. :-) Ric.

That is a super beginning, and it certainly finishes with a hook to readers. Very well written, as always, and I will be looking forward to where Lori takes the story, and the to and fro between you.

Thanks, Wendy. I love to write the mysteries and when Lori asked me to do this, I thought it would be fun. I hope we can continue on our journey and others will enjoy.

Before I joined FanStory, I read a lot of James Patterson mysteries including many of his collaborations with other writers. "The President is Missing," "The President's Daughter," and "The First Gentleman," are all Patterson/Clinton collabs.

Now, I'm about to embark on a new Carol/Lori mystery. You've started out with a fascinating beginning. I look forward to what you and Lori come up with.

I couldn't resist another mystery when Lori asked that I collaborate with her...I'm a James patterson follower as well and it's in my blood. I always appreciate your thoughts and encouragement.

Me too! i am eager to see where Lori goes with this. When she asked if we might colloborate I jumped at the chance...Mystery is my thing. And trying to work it in with someone else also at the helm is a challenge I look forward to. Thanks so much, ulla.

Ah the thought of a vigilante protecting single women obligingly walking the streets, when they shouldn't have, and this particular, potential victim was actually doing it, and then the vigilante killed the attacker, then vanished into the night, beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

I'm not sure that being a vigilante is the proper way to solve crimes but in this case, right or wrong, he's saving lives and destroying the venom of the streets. We shall see where it goes. Thank you so much, Roy.
