You've brought back some happy memories here. These are all people who have brought laughter into my life - not the modern LOL, LMAO and ROFL, but genuine pleasure and enjoyment. I know what you mean about the 1920s. I still think of the 1960s as being recent!

Thank you for taking time to read and comment. Yeah, the 1960s seem like just an older brother or older sister, not old either.

I loved your reminiscent piece. The names of all those stars brought back fond memories. I saw most of them on TV as a kid with my brothers.
Good clean entertainment. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed your poem very much and you mentioned people that made me laugh made me smile through the years especially remember we're watching Mars and Lucille Ball of course Danny Kaye and all of those and not appreciate your effort in writing this lovely poem. Have a good day and God bless Patricia.

Well, such a great poem of the stars of yesterday. I grew up watching all of these folks as well. I just saw this movie the other day too. Great poem on the people of yesterday. Keep up the great work!

and even now with them all gone I smiled in reading about each of them for the Golden Era of Hollywood was a far better time than this era of smudge of pornographic cussedness.

These are all wonderful names from the past that you recollect in fun and entertaining detail in your rhyming free verse. My all-time favourite was Lucille Ball. I'm impressed by your skill at including these little gems of celebrity knowledge so succinctly in verse form. Well done, Crystie! Take care Debbie

I can confidently declare that I was a big fan of most of those stars, particularly Lucille Ball, she was marvellous in I love Lucy, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, thanks so much for these wonderful words Christie, blessings Roy

Thank you for stopping to read and review today. Yeah, Lucille Ball always reminded me of my grandmother, although she was 10 or 11 years older than my grandmother.

I would have loved to have met your grandma

This work has reached the exceptional level

A poem of remembrances here, all those upbeat films were so magical and colourful. Today we only have downbeat films on show about shootings and killings. Particularly loved Doris Day, her voice, her sweet smile and her presence always guaranteed a smile. I still listen to her music. I thoroughly enjoyed your warm hearted poem Crystie, love Dolly x x x

Doris Day was right up there with Lucy and Carol Burnette. I remember as kid, I liked the Doris Day show. And wasn't it the song that was one of the best jingles to start the show? These name drops bring things back, also age revealing for me. Thanks!

Thank you for your great review. I only just discovered the Doris Day show maybe last summer. We didn't have cable until a few years ago, so I am catching up on several shows from the past.

There seemed to be so much more innocence back then. Perhaps they just did not permit the kind of problems or raunchiness that existed but simply we're not focused on. It's too bad what kids have watched today and considered normal life. Well said in your nostalgic poem!

Thank you for your super review. I definitely agree that children and teenagers don't get as good of a range of movies as before.
