    Karen,

Thank you for the wonderful review. You did tell me what Tom had to say. I have not tried it yet. Do your part and plant some milkweed for the butterflies. I already plant flowers in the fall for them. The one flower lasted a long time until that snow storm wiped them out.

    Well done my friend

I think here in Texas, or my part of Texas, we have mostly gray fox. I haven't or heard of red fox. Thank you for continuing to share these animals with us. You're going a great service.

    Barbara,

Thank you for the wonderful review. When I started doing these animals I really had no intention of them continuing like I had. The more I read about the endangered animals the more I felt like I had to get the message out. I have also learned a lot through my research.

Thanks for presenting this beautiful red fox to me. It's such a shame that it's species population has decreased for the various reasons outlined.
Very good rhyme throughout and there's some good metre too. If the syllable count was cut back little in places to improve the meter it would he better again. Let me know of you would like any help on that I spotted a few places it could.
But I really enjoyed this and appreciated the author notes too.
Great work my friend
Hugs,
Nicki x

Thank you for the lovely poem and the interesting information this little fox. It is so sad that their population has decreased. It seems that they are in dire danger of becoming extinct. Evi

    Evi,

Thank you for the great review. Yes, these poor little foxes are on the brink of extinction if something isn't done soon. It would be a shame to let that happen,

It's so sad to think of these beautiful animals disappearing. Only 18 to 39
left? That's tragic. Your poem tells their sad story well. Thanks for sharing.

    Nancy,

Thank you for the great review. I never intended for this to be a series, but the more I researched I felt the need to get the message out and bring awareness to their plight. Thank you for the suppoer throughout, I appreciate you.

    Barry,

Thank you for the wonderful review. They are very close to becoming extinct if something doesn't give for them.

When I lived in Los CrucesNew Mexico I was telling you my kitchen one day and I saw a pair of foxes run across the pasture behind my home. I don't know that they were red foxes because I couldn't see him well enough to know that, but they could tell that they were foxes. I only saw the foxes a couple of times in the 28 years that I lived there.

    Patricia,

Thank you for the wonderful review. That must have been a sight to see. The only time I have saw a fox is when I was stationed in North Carolina. It came running across the path we would run on.

I enjoyed reading this poem about the red fox. I had no idea that they were becoming endangered. We have foxes in the shade of red where I live and I can often see them in the neighborhood, but I guess what I'm seeing isn't a true red fox. I loved the rhyming you used in the poem. It flowed so nicely off the tongue. I like the ending of this poem, yes a new strategy is needed for all of the endangered animals. Once again, a great informative poem written in such lovely words.

    Kristen,

Thank you for the wonderful review. There are many 5 species of red fox and the ones you saw were probably one of the other species. It is scary when wild life come into the neighborhood.

Wow. You are indeed a top ranked author. I only noticed that this morning. #5 - congratulations. Where is the squid living these days that she makes note of a fox in the high Sierras. California, I suppose, no? San Diego got to your soul? Or have you always been a West Coast gal?

    Tom,

Thank you for the wonderful review. This girl currently lives in the great state of Texas. We moved from Reno, NV and we used to play in the Sierra Nevada mountains all the time. San Diego will always have a special place in my heart. Haven't been there 1990 though.

Coronado was one of my favorite haunts. We used to have big bon fires and spend the night on the beach partying. Oh, the memories.
