I gave you a low score because I had anxiety the entire time I read this. I have three sons and I am so afraid of them driving fast. They drive non sport vehicles, I always felt it was reckless of parents to gift children, especially boys flashy sports cars that could kill them or others. I was hoping the story ended differently where you got caught and learned a lesson, I would have given a six star review.

Lol! Well, I was always like the roadrunner, not Wiley E. Coyote. However, I can tell you this - it's a "male thing," we all do it and thank God mom don't know it. I was very lucky as a teen, but I had many friends that weren't. However, if you read my Basketball and driving you will see I was taught how to drive at the young age of 10, so I had a some driving experience well before I got my license and I truly believe to this day that is why I have driven for 52 years and never had a wreck...Never.

You got it right, you were young and dumb. I think if I lost friends that way, I would refrain from doing that again. It makes a great story, though. It is very well written. Evi

Wow, Harry, you had a crazy fast experience with your Buick. I think all boys are pretty much that way, and I'm sure my boys were, too. I just never found out about it.
Thanks for sharing your misadventures with your ultra fast toy.
Take care,
Rhonda

This story is a thrilling and nostalgic ride, offering ban excellent glimpse into the reckless spirit of youth. The writer's vivid descriptions immediately draw you into the action. The adrenaline fueled chase scenes are written with such energy and excitement that you can hear the roar of the engine and feel the rush of the wind.
What makes this story even more exceptional is this reflection that follows. While the wild, high speed moments are gripping, this story takes a meaningful turn as the writer looks back with a mix of regret and fondness. Great and enjoyable story.

Hi Harry!
One thing is sure, you loved that car! The passage where you describe the car has more passion than when you describe the teenage girls. So many details. It reminded me of stories my Dad used to tell. Nice work!!

Oh my goodness you got my adrenaline up a couple different times during this racey story. I know it's not a word. I don't think I've ever been in a car that went that fast. I mean the cars had the potential to go that fast but I would be too scared especially as a passenger. My dad used to call me a "race car driver" Because when I was young and dumb, I would ride the tale of a semi because I heard once that you get good gas mileage that way. I'm glad to have met you on here and you lived to tell about all your stories.

You're welcome, I didn't realize that the reviews were yours back to back to back lol and when I saw your name for the third time, I figured what the heck I'll read it. I'm not stalking you. These just came up in the order of the reviews. I've been falling behind on writing and reviewing so I figured I'd try to catch up a little bit. Keep up the great work thanks for appreciating me.

Oh no worries! Thanks!

Are you, my brother. You have described my twin brother to perfection. John knew only one speed in Dad's car, flat chat. He was skilled, but rather mad behind the wheel. You really described him perfectly in your final sentence. He too was young, dumb and liked to drive fast.

Hi Harry,
Yes, the folloy of youth I think most of us young males have been there at one time or another! Lol
I had an old beat up car which my Dad had changed the engine on to something really fast. You wouldn't have looked twice at it but it was a beast under the bonnet!
Another enjoyable piece.
Good stuff

I was a girl who didn't like shopping, but I loved to go fast. One night I got into a drag race with my big yellow boat that had a golden eagle engine. I beat the other guy and kept on going. In the first curve after the race I discovered my engine died at a 100 miles an hour. Managed to keep her on the road and gave up racing. I forgot to tell you what a great story this is. It sure reminded me of younger days and wishing I had a car like yours, even if my old boat was a race winner.

Wow. I have never driven that fast before. 100mph was the max I've gone but I am a speeder often going 85 in a 65 mph zone. But that was when I was younger. We do crazy things in high school. I liked the part about avoiding the sheriff. That was funny. I guess that is why there are rules now that teenagers can't drive with their friends in the car. I enjoyed this read.
