This is getting really confusing as Phil makes decisions Trump never would and gets things better organized. Phil as Trump is going to Merlago, I assume and when they switch, Trump will be away from messing up all Phil's good work. But too many real names are known to people who really shouldn't know them. I think I have that right. Do you have some kind of massive chart you are working from?

    Thank you for your review.
    No chart.
But too many real names are known to people who really shouldn't know them. - I'm not sure what you mean here. Basically, I've changed names where I think the real people might get offended enough, should they ever see this, to decide to ruin my life. (frowny face here) Others I've left as themselves either because I'm not offending them, or I'm not afraid of them. (Jeffries, Cotton, Thune)

I mean they know Phil's real name, and some of the people working with him in the White House.

Ahhh. Yes, they know Phil's real name. But no one suspects anything as crazy as people switching into one another. Hakeem Jeffries is keeping Phil safe (and hidden) whether he's Phil, or Trump.

Neato. Weird, off the wall, But I love it. You have a good mind for the kind of writing. I couldn't do it. Especially not keep up with it over and over. I am doing good with my lists, but it is different. I managed 6 chapters with my " I really don't belong here". That is the most I have done in a story. You rock. Karen

    Thank you to the extreme!
I actually wrote the 61K words in practically one sitting - a few weeks.
(except the last 8 chapters starting at #36) I hope you can catch them. They're basically stand-alones.

Another good chapter - what a lot of juggling to keep all the balls in the air, roles being filled by new personnel, changes having to be made quickly, firstly while the switch remains, and secondly before the real Trump wakes up to what's going on, or Phil somehow lets the cat out of the bag. I don't know how this isn't messing with your mind big time! But very well done!

Thank you. It helps (my mind) to spend as much time in my world as possible. (smiley face here)
I want to get 7 more chapters posted so bad I can't hardly stand it!

This was a lot more fun and lighter (well, let's say lit up with fireworks.) And my favorite part was all the ridiculous possible nominees of Supreme Court justices to replace the ones we would like gone. I guess things are wrapping up and Phil and Tom and Hakeem will be some place safe after this!

This is fun to read. It seems to be moving along so quickly, and I didn't even know you had gotten onto this subject. I've had only limited use of a computer lately, since I'm away from home. I did go back and scan over some of this so I'm not completely in the dark. I'm not sure Trump isn't waking up someone else some days. What he is pushing one day, he might be reversing his position on another day. Of course, both Trumps are equally scary. We need him to swap identities with someone who might actually save the country before it is too late.

Thank you. The swapping has been randomly back and forth. When the good guy is Trump, he can't be too obvious.

That scene would have to be spectacular for his supporters not to explain it away or say we misunderstood or spread it as "false news" or made by AI.

I was also worried about Trump recognizing Tom's voice. Though it might make Trump even more paranoid.

Suggestions to consider:
The Vice President looked at me with a gaping jaw... I think you could switch it: The VP gaped at me

Who will you replace me with. I believe you need a question mark here.

"Honestly, I do not have a single name on a single list. I have not thought about anyone at all. It was true. I believe you need quotation marks after 'all'.

I could hear Phil nodding. Can you really hear someone nodding?

One of us call our Congressional friend... For subject/verb agreement, I believe it should be 'calls'.

Will everything work out? I have a feeling not, but I eagerly anticipate how it will play out.

Thank you.I agree with nearly all your comments Any exception would be in dialogue But even then I change it when understanding is an issue
You can hear nodding quite easily when brains rattle. smiley face here

Your story had me hooked from start to finish! The way you built up the tension with each step of the plan was great. The little details, like the fireworks and the fake phone call, really made the whole thing feel real! And that ending was a perfect setup for the next chapter! Can't wait to see where you take this. Keep it up!

The two chapters worked together well again. Your destruction and revision of governmental policies continues well. The stocking cap reminded me of an incident years ago. I was in Walmart trying on a stocking cap when I suddenly morphed into a queue in a bank as a robbery was taking place by bandits in stocking caps. I was at the head of the line and immediately arrested.

"... like I was speaking as someone else." Haha:-)

This was funny: I make a convincing scene, sufficient that no one wants to talk me out of it. Trump could never make a scene that would get him thrown out of office, and the talking heads would justify his behavior somehow.

"I could hear Phil nodding." Huh?

This should be called fantasy writing, Wayne. If only we could move all the pieces on the chess board, take and replace the king, and throw the queen out for good measure.

I look forward to seeing if you give this a happy ending, or one that we would expect where Trump is involved.

Hope you're having a good day and a productive week. Are you home or away?

xo

Thank you for your great review.
I would call it a fantasy, but I'm morphing into it as my alternate reality every time I open it.
We're home for now - taking care of the affairs of a friend who I'm POA for after putting her into a nursing home. What a nightmare!
