Hello Gretchen,
I like all the descriptions and detail that add to the quality of the story. It seems that Elaine and Miranda will always have a bitter relationship. I guess there isn't much anyone can do about that. Its good that they could communicate though. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

This one's very good, too. Like Miranda,I, too, was surprised by her monster-in-law's comment. I LOVED this part:

"When I stopped having to wait up for a wayward, cheating husband to come home." I smile, knowing she can't top that one.

HHAHAHAHAAH. Absolute perfection.

Thank you for this. I doubt Miranda and Elaine will ever be friendly but they have a common goal. Appreciate the star. Gretcgen

Good story. Mitch is pretty darn laid back for a cop. She is lucky. Has Miranda gone to a lawyer or accountant about the money yet? Her taxes are gonna be bad this year.

No lawyers yet. She hasn't even touched the money yet. Thank you. Gretchen

This is very well written and it goes very well when it's read aloud. I enjoyed very much listening to it. You're sentence structure your paragraphing and your punctuation are all very good. May you have a lovely day and a terrific weekend. Patricia

Another good chapter, Gretchen, as any hard feelings between Miranda and Mitch seem to have been dispelled, and they are now working together to solve the crime. I liked their little banter about her becoming a cop and then she says she has a problem taking orders. They are a great pair.

Took some bravery to look at those photos, but it was an important clue that Dougie probably didn't do it.

I also liked Miranda's introspection about not having told Mitch when Dougie woke up. She realizes she would have been as pissed about that as Mitch was. She looks at things reasonably and can admit when she's wrong.

Great writing.

This is a stellar performance, Gretchen. I was all ramped up about the monster-in-law and the battle to come. But, it seems Elaine didn't live up to the name. That was a pleasant surprise.

Mitch seems to be a great guy, and boyfriend, which makes him a likable character. This story is progressing nicely, especially with the photos and the clues they offer, like the position of the arm and small amounts of blood.
Great work, my friend

God bless,
Steve

It seems for a minute there, Miranda saw her ex-mother-in-law as a person rather than a monster. The pictures of the crime scene and of Dougie likely convinced her even further that Dougie was the one who killed the teacher. I didn't know until now that Mitch has children.

Mitch is such a good guy. And he loves Miranda. That puts him high up in my estimation. That Miranda is doing all this for Waylan, and also for finding out the truth about that nigh, just shows what a remarkable lady she is. She might now like Dougie, or want him back in her life, but she doesn't like frame-ups. And Dougie was framed. I still believe it was that other kids mother. Loving this story, Gretchen. Love and hugs Sandra xxx

So the monster in law turned out to be a harmless ordinary person, even.the kmow all Miranda had to acknowledge. Photos complicate theories and Miranda the know all is overworking her brain. I have a feeling it will be her who cracks the case....
