Hi Jim,
that was pretty brazen of those two thugs to confront the family when there was an armed guard right there protecting them. It sounds like the stress level is going to step up another notch. What a bummer.
Well done.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Thanks, Tom. That scene in the park will make more sense a little later on. You're definitely right about the stress level increasing.

This is another excellent chapter. Marie is back. You are moving the story along nicely. I look forward to the next chapter. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thanks very much, Lee. Yes, Marie is back to stay now and will be with us the rest of the way. I think you'll enjoy her contribution.

It would be quite invasive I think having to have bodyguards around 24/7 but for Brian and Jules, reassuring. Another good chapter Jim . Cheers

Thanks so much, Valda. I agree with you there. You'd better get along well with them; otherwise, it might be very unpleasant to have them around.

Another great chapter that moves the story along at a comfortable pace and gives us a little butt-puckering excitement at the park that doesn't really turn into what I'd figured it might. The only part that set off my radar was when Julia's fear of going to the grocery made her opt for having the products delivered. An obvious miscalculation on her part, almost like inviting the fox to the hen-house buffet. Thanks for sharing.

The fox is already there! ('Nuff said.)

I wouldn't mind hiring a couple of body guards to protect me as I sometimes feel vulnerable Jim. It is a pity that they are necessary in today's crazy world and of course in this case they are needed. We can never take threats lightly, as people are crazy enough to carry them out these days. Another fine chapter in your story Jim, love Dolly x x x

Thanks, Dolly. Much appreciated. Bodyguards would be handy, but you'll spend a lot of time with them, so hopefully they are people you like. Maybe in the future there will be robot bodyguards powered by AI. Who knows?

Another fine chapter, and a lot of tension and suspense. It is very frightening to not know who is watching, when or where. Are those security guys trustworthy?

The most frightening thing in this chapter is the fact that someone was bold enough to approach Marie and the body guard in broad daylight, to leave a threat for Brian. We now need to know how Julia, Marie, and the bodyguard were tracked to the park. As always, I enjoyed this chapter,

Thank you, Lorraine. We'll find out soon how that tracking took place.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is really a frightening event for Brian's family. Even with the guards there, they still can be approached. That would be a terrible feeling and all because Brian did something that would be good for everybody in the world.

That's the irony of it. You do something good, and you're met with nothing but bad. Such a shame it's often that way. Thanks so much for the review and the 6 stars, Carol.

Jim,

Well that was a little excitement for Julia and Marie. That was nice of her mother to come to her house for awhile. Julia's a good wife staying with Brian.

Well done

Thanks, Cecilia. Marie is starting to feel protective now--just like a real mother. It's taken her long enough, but mothering (and grandmothering) has finally been awakened in her.

So now the threats have taken on a physical form, and the trouble is that nobody knows if indeed it will be curtailed, drugs, whether addictive or otherwise are certain a controversial or not, are still a profitable business, and Jesus was right, is it worth losing one's soul, and money is the root of all kinds of evil, beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Still only at the "do this or else" stage. Soon we'll be getting into the "else" stage. Then hang onto your hat.
