Well, looks like the natural and expected progressions are taking place with Glyptophan. But the new closeness of Julia and her mother Marie are an unexpected family reward. Thanks for sharing.

This renewed relationship between Julia and Marie wasn't something I thought about too much when I started the story; it just sort of grew. Marie has turned into my favorite character.

Mine too. Who could have imagined learning to like her. LOL

This day is another excellent chapter. I see Marie is back. The good news is that the drug is off the market. The bad news is big Pharma is after them. I look forward to the next chapter. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a good day.

Thank you, Lee. Marie is back for good right through to the end now. You're right: One plot is done with while the next one takes over all their attention now.

Yay! Cedric gets to resume his lessons, well, after Marie gets back from her unplanned trip. She took it better than expected. I love that! It got a little tense there for a moment, Jim. Lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if something happened while Brian was out of town. Just a feeling. I also think, Marie, will kick some ass somehow.

Great work, my friend.
God bless,
Steve

Great instincts you've shown here, Steve. You're getting inside my mind now!

Nice! I don't want any of them to get hurt, well, maybe the bad guys. Lol. I can't wait to see what's next.

Marie is turning into a real mother. Real mothers give up their personal plans to be available to assist their family. Marie and Julia will be able to bond even more, now that they have expressed their love. I'm glad Julia won't be alone while Brian is away.

The best news is that Dip is no longer harmful and people can't figure out how a drug produced in China has changed. The Chinese are probably the most baffled.

You picked up all the important points in the chapter, Lorraine. Certainly the Chinese will be baffled about this, but because Fran and Brian kept their presence secret, hopefully they won't figure it out.

Marie will continue to have a large presence in the remainder of the story. Nine chapters left.

Life is getting really awful for Brian's family if they can't leave the house and have to hire guards and know people are watching them. Who knew developing a wonderful drug could be so dangerous. I am sure Brian didn't know what was coming.

I think he expected some resistance but never imagined violence against his family would be a part of it. Such a shame people will stoop that low.

Another great chapter from the perspective of Marie whose increasingly caring nature and misnomers serve to balance the tensions going on in the Kendrick household. As ever, the story continues to clarify details of the plot in excellent dialogue and is a faultless, entertaining read. Many thanks, Jim. Take care Debbie

Thanks so much, Debbie, for this wonderful review.

Revealing plot details through conversation is something I picked up along the way. In my earliest novels, I would often narrate some action and then have the character tell another one about what happened. It became redundant to do it that way, so now I'll either say a brief "I then described to her what happened" without repeating the details, or I won't describe all the details earlier but reveal them in the conversation. Both ways avoid the redundancy. I think it was a comment by someone reviewing on FanStory that pointed out what I had been doing.

That's the great thing about this site: We can learn from each other.

It's wonderful to discover that love lives in our own hearts, and along with it comes the baggage that can hurt, can worry, can hope for the welfare and health of loved ones, but it's all worth it, as Marie will find, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Well said, Roy. It took Marie a while to get there but it seems like it's been awakened now. It will draw them closer together, which will be a blessing as the story unfolds.

Nicely done with the dialogue between Marie and Cedric, and I love the little "it's Dr Schmidt etc. And an emotional conversation between mother and daughter. They are getting closer and I think Marie can handle herself if she needs to. A great read, Jim. Cheers

Thanks so much, Valda. I really appreciate those 6 stars too. Marie is finally coming around and actually feeling motherly now to Julia. It's a shame it took so long, but it's growing now.

Marie is coming around to almost be a good mother. LOL Things are moving along nicely. We have the Dipraxa stopped. Now we need to make sure everybody is safe. I am worried about that. We also need the trails of Glyptophan finish. Good writing.

Thank you, Barbara. Marie's getting there, isn't she? Too bad it's taken so long, but better late than never, I guess. Your worries about the safety of the family are justified.

Jim,

That was a great chapter. It appears Marie is starting to have maternal feeling. What a concept. Poor Julia having to put up with the stress of the threats. A couple bodyguards should put her at ease.

Well done my friend

Cecilia

You certainly got the gist of this chapter, Cecilia. You're right about Marie's maternal instincts finally being awakened. Yes, what a concept! And the bodyguards should certainly help. Can't rely on the police and the FBI to provide the kind of 24-hour coverage they will likely need.

I am really enjoying this book.

I'm delighted, my friend. We're about 80% of the way through it, and Marie's role in the story will become clearer in this last part. The Dip part of the story is done, and we will focus on the harassment by Big Pharma now.
reply by Cecilia A Heiskary on 09-Mar-2025
Alright. Looking forward to the remaining story.
