I love the way Eleanor slipped in while the lawyer was talking with the two men, and then appeared ever so briefly, just to them. A fun scene! Well, the drug dealing and the attempts on Donatelli's life seem to be connected, but there are so many things yet to figure out. Good chapter!

Who knows maybe those two will spill the beans about Zhang and the baby and finally justice will be served. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

There are two very frightened low-level bad guys that keep seeing a strange woman appearing and disappearing. Their lawyer abandoned their case when they explained it to her.

This is another excellent chapter. You keep the story moving, which keeps it exciting. I look forward to the next chapter. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

So, it seems we have another shady judge to replace John Doyle, he's not dead just living in someone else's body, or at least the same sort of principles, when it's crooked at the top, it will surely filter down, some new characters, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Garland saw an opening with Doyle gone and thought he'd try on his shoes. He'll discover they don't fit as well as he expected.

It doesn't say much for American judges that here is another otally corrupt one. And Miss Rosalie is obviously well up in allt he action. She just asked the one question - and didn't know Eleanor was listening to them incriminating themselves and others. Very humorous!

Unfortunately, I don't mean to sound cynacle, but our American government and justice system seems to be falling apart and I fear what will be left. Thanks so much for your review.

I was glad to see a new judge in town, but heck, he's crooked also. Plus, there's a mystery man...The Voice. Thankfully we have a mysterious girl,,,Eleanor.

To be honest, beginning with the opening statement, this sounds like a completely new and different story, with an unknown character smuggling drugs. It was interesting Ms. Rosalie said, "If you think I'm going back to Mr. Wei..." So we now know Zhang sent the two thugs. Still, characters we know are there and Maggi will be thought about soon, I'm sure. Can't wait to see what happens.

I doubt we will have seen the last of Judge Garland when this story raps up, but one never knows for sure. Finding Zhang is the top priority or clues to where Maggie is. Thanks as always.

What on earth, Carol, is up with the Judges in this darn town?
Or are all American Judges corrupt?
OK, I know the majority of the Supreme Court over the pond is currently bought and paid for, but fiction mirroring reality.
You go girl LOL

Probably just about all of government and judical offices are operating as if they are all that matters and the little people aren't worth anything at all. Thanks as always.

Another great chapter eead before I break for breakfast. Loved that Eleanor had a little fun with the two crims, and took the smirk from Lawyer Rosalie's face, Well done, Carol.

I've gotten to when I click on your post, I go back and make sure I've read the previous post. I don't want to read them out of order.

Okay, we're sure we have a mole and now we have those two on their way to a safe place, so they won't get murdered in prison. We also know who's partially in charge. I do like this story.

I'm trying to spread myself out...writing things I've never tried...like poetry and now scripts. I also like when I write a story with two endings...or a multi-author story... so maybe when this story in ended, I will slow down with the next one. It's hard when I have some loyal readers sitting on the edge of their chairs saying "Come on, Where's the next one." I'm blessed.

I understand, I have the same thing. I feel the need to edit constantly so I put out the best product I can, so I only post my novel once a week. The rest of the week, I edit it.
