Good chapter! I'm glad Rebecca and Garth are together. Her reaction to him was not what I was expecting, nor what Garth was hoping for. One small fix: 'It would take time to find leads to Zhang.' (Remove 'leading to'). It'll be interesting to see if and how Danny gets involved. Blessings. Carol

Rebecca has come from a rather boring life into adventure, fortune, and a man who loved her twin first. Garth needs to give her some room. He also feels overwhelmed by the loose ends that need to be resolved. Eleanor is there for him as she has been for quite a while now.

I love the way you include a calming chapter after several chapters of suspense, chaos, and unpredictability. I also loved the skillful way you wove in Eleanor's young relationship with Danny. This is an "I can breathe" chapter ~ so important after all the chaos and action of the past few! Zhang won't stay gone forever ~ Carol always gets her guy! It's understandable how both Rebecca and Garth are confused and flustered by the emotion between them. Elanor, as always, infuses Garth with a reminder that he was not in his right mind when he lost Allie.
Rebecca needs time -- to gain perspective and walk freely into Garth's arms without reservation.
