This piece shines a spotlight on Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, a hidden gem in Spencer County, Indiana, with an impressive history as America's first theme park. The detailed storytelling captures the park's evolution from Santa Claus Land in 1946 to a top-tier amusement destination, offering unique holiday-themed sections, world-class roller coasters, and an award-winning water park.
A must visit.

I do like the way you write. It brings the past to life far easier than a teevee show.
You might want to consider changing one of these two children to kids, as there is redundancy in this sentence. nine children and he loved children
vs nine kids and loved children or nine children and loved kids...

Okay, I'm officially adding Spencer County, Indiana to the list of potential vacation spots. My husband and I love theme parks, and being Floridians you are 100% right, my mind is always limited to Disney World and Busch Gardens. Holiday World sounds super friendly! You should really be on their marketing team.
Your writing is spot on, and you've described the history of this theme park beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing!

Harry, Thank you for writing and telling us about this amazing place to visit. I wish I had found out about it earlier in life. We used to go to Bethlehem, PA for Christmas many years. Tom's family lives there. I hope you are having a great day my friend! Blessings, Teri

For all its accolades, I've never heard of it.
But for a vacation... give me wide open spaces as far from parks of any type as possible: the Rockies, a deserted beach, a boat in the middle of a large lake or ocean.
But you wrote a good entry. Congratulations.

Boy Howdee! You just keep hitting on all cylinders. I had heard vaguely of the park many years ago. But this fount of information is mind blowing. This is really well done. You have steadily improved since joining. You write in many styles like me. I have challenged myself to write a biography. Any helpful hints? Karen

I had not heard of this place before, but your nicely-worded non-fiction essay about it inspired me to go look up the two most famous wooden roller coasters there, the Raven and the Voyage. My home state's only wooden roller coaster is much, much shorter but considered the fourth oldest in the United States. It sounds like it is a way fun place to go. And as per the writing prompt, you also included the reference to the home of Abraham Lincoln when young. Nice share!

My hometown is in Northern Ohio, and we would visit "Cedar Point" an old theme park. Next time I visit I will be sure to head over to Indiana and check Santa Clause Land.

Yes, the whole town is Christmas themed 365 days a year. They even have a Santa Claus store there with toys that is huge. It really is a neat town to visit. Thanks again, for the great review!
