I am partially sighted in my left eye, so I know how you feel. Apparently my left eye was damaged, but I have no idea how it happened. I do hope your treatment goes well.

Hi Patricia, I am sorry for your eye too and hope they can do something so you don't go blind. Is yours the cornea too, cause your nerves may be dead too, or have you been checked lately. I hate to see anyone else suffer so much.
So, thanks so very much for this wonderful review and kind comments for my post. I appreciate the six stars so very much, my dear friend. God bless!
Love, Debi

Yes, I have regular checks. Thank you for your concern, Best wishes.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble with that infection. I hope your appointment later this month goes well. It's good to know the Oxervate helped grow the nerves back. I think the Oxervate helped me, but my eyes are still super-sensitive to light. You did a good job of explaining your situation, and with excellent rhyme, too! Yes, I understand your need to keep writing. Doing those creative things really helps. All the best to you, and keep us posted on how it's going. judi

Judy, it is so good to hear from you. I am busy putting another regimen of steroids and antifungal drops in my eyes and more oral antibiotics but I have a feeling that things will be different with this next appointment. I have had so many prayers that I just feel it.
Didn't you say that your appointment with the surgeon is in March? I wish you all the best with that. You are on my prayer list and I have been praying for you too. So please let me know how it goes and I will do the same.
Thanks for all your kind words, my dear friend. You are so appreciated!
Love, Debi

I pray you have success with the antibiotics and other treatment you're receiving for your eye infection. You're thinking positive, and I believe that's always helpful. I'll let you know how my March appointment goes. I'm able to read longer now without my eyes starting to bother me. I think the treatment has helped, but what I'm wondering now is do the effects last? judi

I am not sure about yours but they told me that the oxervate was to grow the nerves back in the cornea.
So if that is the case, and we both have nerve regrowth, then I would think that unless something damages our cornea again, we will be fine.
At least that is my hope. With me, I scratched mine really bad when I already had bad infections in it. So that killed my nerves.

Well Debi I sure I'm sorry to hear that your eye is not progressing as it should and as we all hoped it would. You know I told you I had cataract surgery in both eyes and my doctor has told me my vision is nearly 20/20. It is impossible to understand how one of gods children has a very good outcome and another one of his children has what we perceive to be a very negative outcome. The challenge is to trust God in all things and believe with all our heart that he does all things for our good. Blessings on you sis.

Hi Dan, yeah I am glad your cataract surgeries went well. It will be two years in June since I had my cataract surgeries. Both eyes were a piece of cake. No problems at all. In fact it was the easiest surgeries I ever had.
But this is all the way different. This started out as three infections when I had covid eye in August. Then I scratched my cornea when infected and it just won't heal and the inflammation is horrible. It is so bad that my dr told Glen that he loses sleep over me. He even gave me his cell phone number so I can call him if I need anything. So it is pretty serious and now they are wondering if it is my lupus that harbors the infection in my body. So more antibiotics and more steroids and it feels like I am continually putting drops in my eyes.
You know, if it doesn't clear and I remain blind, then I will have to deal with it. My mother told me on her death bed in so much pain that someone always has it worse. So I try to live by that.
Thanks a lot my dear bro. I appreciate the kind words. And the extra stars too.
Love and hugs!! Debi

Oh Debi, that sounds so horrible! I know you must be going crazy with something like that. The poem really shows your emotion from this crazy bizzare virus that is affecting you. I hope they can come up with something to help! Keep up the great writing!

Thanks for sharing everything, Debi. I am sorry you are going through all of this. You must have a wonderful doctor to have told you he is losing sleep over it. I am glad there is some good news about growing nerves back again. You are in my prayers each night, and I hope you get good news on your next appointment. Take care and know many thoughts and prayers are with you. Your friend, Pam.

Hi Pam, you dear friend. Thank you so very much for your prayers and for this wonderful heartfelt review and sweet comments. The Oxervate was what judiverse was also on. Her condition is different than mine, but I think it helped her too. That is a $100,000. treatment for three months. They are so sterile and so careful that it is shipped in dry ice every two weeks by a special carrier from Creedo the pharmacy that makes it. Also, my dr gave me his cell phone number to use whenever I had a question or concern. He calls me too and is the best dr I have ever had. It is very serious and is not showing signs of clearing. So thank you with all my heart for your big heart.

You are very welcome, Debi, and thanks for sharing everything. You are lucky to have this doctor. What an expensive treatment. Hoping the best for you.

I'm so sorry about your eye. Corneal damage of any kind is horrible, and even partial blindness is difficult to deal with. And with lupus on top of it, that's worse than awful.
I hope the rest of your life is better than that, and I am glad that your husband is there to support you in your time of need.

Yes, this has been a very hard ordeal. In fact my eye doctor even gave me his cell phone number to call or text with any changes or questions.
Thank you for your most special review and compassionate comments. I am kicking myself that I didn't remember your first name when you told it to me. I have it on the tip of my tongue but just can't think of it. Could you tell me again, as I know that Shanbreen was your daughter's name. I will never forget that you told me that. So I would like to address you correctly.
Thank you for the generous six stars and I appreciate your big heart, with all my heart, my dear friend. God bless you and thank you again. Love, Debi

I'm so sorry, I feel awful for you. Did they say a transplant would work and are you on a waiting list? It's frustrating when there is little they can do..I'd be so angry if I were you. I pray for you and wish you the best. â¤ï¸Â

Oh, Debi. I'm so sorry to read this, and am praying for you even as I write this. I know you must be so frustrated, but hold on to your hope while waiting for the appointment on the 28th. Meanwhile, try to find something, anything, each day that you can do for yourself to make that day special. And maybe try to do something good for someone else, while you're at it. Sometimes that's what helps us the most during bad times--helping another person who has it even worse than you. I'll be thinking of you, my friend.

Oh thank you, Laurie, for all the kind words. I know how blessed I am, even with only being able to walk very few steps and be on my feet for more than five minutes. Lupus has done that to me and maybe the reason why I can't heal my eye for more than a couple weeks at a time. Thankfully the one eye is getting me by because my writing means the world to me.
And yes, doing for others is what keeps me going. Every time I write a tribute for someone, my heart is so full knowing that it may make their day better. And I ask in every tribute if people would like one on their birthdays. Please let me know if you are interested. I would be honored!
Thank you again, Laurie, for all the thoughtful comments and the generous six stars! You are so sweet. Love, Debi

Ooh, that would make me feel so rich in FanStory Friends, to have a poem written to me! Thank you! My birthday is March 21. No obligation, of course; I know you're busy with the physicalities of life at the moment. But thank you for offering!

Laurie, nothing could keep me from it. Even if they do the surgery after my appointment at the end of Feb, I will have it written ahead of time. All I ask is that you send me by email some info about you. You could just write something's about yourself, family, career, hobbies, etc....
Anything you would like to share about your writing too, accomplishments. Anything at all
My email is:
debipm@icloud.com
Then I will PM you when it is done the morning of your birthday and tell you that if you aren't 100% happy with something, I will change it for you. If you aren't happy, I'm not happy. LOL
I will also send you a fun link when it posts that everyone loves, for you to send to others if you wish.
