Oh good golly. I notice that you've used the term white knuckles several times through out the story ..but never have I been as white knuckled as in this chapter with Rebecca and the children. Amazing story telling. I want to see it on the screen. (..and can I play Rebecca?!) ;D

I wish I knew another term to show someone clenching the steering wheel or something so hard that no blood reaches their fingers... Wouldn't that be marvelous...but no one will ever know who I am.

Rebecca gave her all to save the two children, but now her injuries have caught up with her. Travis is being incredibly brave to go off on his own to try to find help. Does she have a head injury or did she inhale too much water?

I was rooting for Rebecca all the way through this chapter, Carol. Your writing is so cinematic and I could really feel the fear and the tension as they made their bid for freedom. I'm hoping they do get away, but I think something might stop them, I just hope I'm wrong. Another excellent chapter, Carol.

This is another exceptional, action packed chapter. I think Travis's strength and bravery makes him the star of this chapter. He was able to show Rebecca the way out of the tunnels. I hope he can find help for Amelia and Rebecca.

Wow, what a rescue! Very exciting! Travis is inventive in constructing the lean-to and finding the escape route and then the apples. Amelia should be able to keep Rebecca warm with her body heat, although she's small. I hope Travis finds help. Great chapter! Blessings. Carol
