The true challenge of being human. The ability to choose and choose badly if we feel like it. Free will is a gift but also a curse because we are always drawn to do the wrong thing. Thanks for sharing. You'll catch the contest next time.

I saw Minute poetry guidelines, so it's understandable that you had a few struggles along that path. But, when you think about it, doesn't that make this poem all the more perfect, then? You fell a bit, but then you stood back up with this absolutely lovely and inspiring poem!! Win/win! Take a bow!! xoxoxox

This poem paints a picture of the story of the fall of creation into sin. Yes, God gave people the ability to make their own decisions and, sadly, we have taken full advantage of the gift. Please note that 'minute' is misspelled above the title and in your notes. I was at first confused about the dance (minuet). Good picture choice. Blessings. Carol

-Very good artwork and presentation.
-I like your poem.
-You are right that rhyme
isn't needed for it.
-Very good description and
message in your poem.
-Sometimes a few words say a lot.
-A good contrast between being
created to stand, and with
the "gift of freewill," be "able to fall."
-Very well done.

Hi D&V
This poem fits into th coming season of Lent, The man in the picture seems to be praying for forgiveness as we do when our free will makes os fall.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

A beautiful statement and presentation of the true human condition here, Don -- we are here to stand in Him, lean on the Holy Spirit, but know that there are times we will fall... but He knew that and, thus, Jesus is ours! ;) Thanx for the beautiful statement, sir!! ;) ;) Yvette

DonandVicki, I am just a tad confuse, but will review this anyhow, because
I believe this is a pious premise which has excellent merit. IMHO, one of the greatest GIFTS, God gave man is FREEWILL...What he decides to do with it, is a completely different story. teafor2

Seems like you've got it, no confusion there.

I mean about the contest entry or lack thereof...

Your sentiments sound familiar, Don, to another of your posts, I think:) I like the concept of free will so that man can stand or fall. It's a shame you couldn't fit this into a min(ute) contest because it's clearly a theme which is well portrayed here. Thanks for sharing, Debbie

Don,
This is a great poem. God did create man and then gives us free will.
This is well organized and flows well.
I thought about entering the minute contest, but I can't meet the rhyme requirement either. I am a work in progress.
Well done my friend
Cecilia

You're welcome. I am glad we are friends. How are the fires in Cali? I don't have cable, so I have no idea what's going on.
-
We had a fire one half mile from here last week, but the firefighters got on it so quick only 1 acre was burned. We have had some rain, so it helps.
-
Oh, I bet that was scary. Praying for you and California.
