I was saddened as I read your words. Tge reality of many who drink because of a great loss is so abundant. But the drink makes you think that you are all alone. It takes time to overcome such grief, but it never really goes. Your poem is relatable to my own experience many years ago. It is sad, but it is very expressive and creates strong imagery, through its verse and picture. Good luck in the contest.

Ciao mystery poet, you now have 5 votes.
I don't know if this is a true story , these horrible things do occur.
My deepest condolences if this story is true.
When tragedies like this happen people tend to lose one's faith ,
your faith instead stopped you from committing suicide which would have damned your soul.
So you started to drink to numb the pain but the bottle is not the solution
and it's also considered a sin .. and it corrupted your thoughts and you were back where you started contemplating suicide.
Your narrative really drew me in, I truly hope it was fiction .

Hi
This is a sad story of of losing a wife and daughter in childbirth or it could be the wife's sickness killed her and the baby before the little girl was born. Some to think of suicide the only answer to the grief. Well drinking does make you feel better for a while, but things seem worse when you are sober. I hope this is not autobiographical. If it is, I am sorry for your loss and glad you decided writing was better than both your previous options.
I don't see any errors to correct.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.
Have a great rest of the week.

Yeah, drinking does hold its problems, harming its user: making them feel secure about things. I lost two younger brothers by alcohol: both heavy drinkers. Great shout, about a deadly substance, most abuse: in my given opinion.
