Hello Barbara. I love the Minute form and I also love being in my nest during the winter... so I combined the two. LOL. Thank you so much!!

This is an excellent minute poem. My favorite line "evokes from me, calm reverie," makes me feel as if I am in a soothing bath of love and caring by those around me who love me and want the best for me. The picture of the cup filled to the rim with hot coffee adds soothing flavor to this piece.
I wish you well with the contest.

I'm so glad you liked the Minute poem, Jesse. I love this form and I love nesting during the cold weather, so paired them up and 'voila' a new poem. :). I'm delighted you liked it, my friend.

This is just delightful! And we who are retired can certainly enjoy those quiet moments. Or perhaps those, who are adept in scheduling their time wisely, know how to enjoy those moments of rest in poetry. Hope this does will in the contest!

I've read a slew of these Minute poems now, and I really am growing to love the cadence they hold. This one of yours is especially appealing because of the Norman Rockwell picture it paints of relaxing with foam on your coffee, quietude, books, and the word "nest." Sounds PERFECT!!!
Best of luck in the Minute Poetry Contest!!

Oh, yes! Winter is made for nesting and NOT braving the cold UNLESS absolutely necessary!! ;) :) A great minute for the contest here, Lady M -- leaves the reader feeling warmed and snuggly! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

This is a very well written and rhymed minute poem and I very much enjoyed listening to it. It flows very well when it is read aloud. May you have a wonderful day and may God bless you. Patricia.

Love the vision you painted, Melissa. Leave the icy fingers of Old Man Winter outside looking in while you enjoy the coziness and warmth of being inside with your favorite things. Well done!

-Very nice image and presentation, Melissa.
-You wrote a good poem with a good topic.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-You set the scene very well in verse one.
-Verse two has a pleasant mood with "quiet sounds."
-A very good closing verse as you have your
books of poetry and a good metaphor with nest.
-Very well done; good luck in the contest.

Melissa,
This is a great minute poem. It is well organized and flows nicely from beginning to end.
The cozy nest you portray pull this reader into your poem and experiencing the unhurried life. Very peaceful.

What a relaxing and soothing poem this is, my friend.
I love the way you create this vision of snuggling under a duvet, rejecting the cold beyond to enjoy the simpler things of life.
Give me poetry, give me coffee, give me a warm fire over the chill beyond my door any day of the week.
