Ciao mystery poet, you now have 5 votes!
Your poem brought back bittersweet memories.
My parents live for 16 years in Tossa de Mar which is about 600 kilometers further down the Spanish coast.
The risers of our main staircase in our villa were decorated with blue Moorish titles..I love that colour.
In our garden, we had one big palm tree, three aloe plants, tangerine roses, and two huge bougainvilleas one orange and one dark pink that hung over the railing near the swimming pool.
These plants as you know are very popular in Spain. The soil in Spain is like clay , you can practically slice it and it stays in place even when it rains a lot.
In Italy, the soil is friable and washes away instead and landslides are more frequent especially now due to more intensive rainfalls.
One thing my parents could not adapt to was eating dinner so late at night..not before 21.00. The first film on TV started at 22,00.
Spain is famous for it oranges but I have to be honest .. many times they were not that juicy at all.
My mother enjoyed bloody Marys or chilled sangria; parents favourite spumante was Freixent.
I remember once, in September, when I was visiting, I saw a gigantic swarm of swallows dance in the sky. They were getting ready to migrate to Africa.

Lovely review, Tempeste. Many thanks. You were unlucky with the oranges. Seville oranges are bitter, great for marmalade. Valencian oranges are the sweetest, juiciest I’ve ever tasted.

You took me there to Spain and I have holidayed in this area before and it is beautiful. You set the scene and your descriptions will be the envy of everyone who is snowed in just now. This magical poem is uplifting and your well chosen rhymes are a joy to read, this is both entertaining and endearing, love Dolly x x x

This is an excellent entry for this particular Quatrain poetry writing prompt. I find that most people experience peace in such a garden.
God bless,
Steve
