Hi Barry,
I agree with the sentiments in the poem. Drilling is needed, but we need to find ways to make it safer for nature. We need to make sure we have clean water to drink in the future and that we don't kill the indigenous wildlife.
I think you can shorten the last line by taking out Because and quite and maybe use there's. This will make syllable close and make the meter smoother.

Your ability to stick to one rhyme for each stanza was impressive. The rhymes are often unexpected, and the changing of the line lengths gave the poem interesting pacing. This brought up an important topic to discuss.

With respect, I value what's best for this country and her people. The past 4 years devalued this country in so many sickening ways under Joe Biden - really Obama who was pulling the strings . China is already in many places in this country, and depending on them for oil again is now out of the question. Our country was going along just fine before Biden - so many things, I won't list. This is not a perfect world, but at least now, we are fighting to get our country back. I'll take "Fight, fight, fight," over apologizing for everything American, etc, etc., any day.

Reading your poem made me think of the arctic . The ice that has protected it for millions of years, due to temperatures rising is now rapidly melting.
Our governments can't wait to exploit it and they don't care a hoot about the wildlife and the ecosystem their drilling will disrupt.
I read recently that Australia wants to allow more gas drilling platforms which will certainly have a negative impact on the annual whale migration.
There is a multi billion dollar project to drill underneath a pristine coral reef off the coast of Western Australia .. for now the government has said no.
The fact that companies even think of such a project is evidence they don't care a hoot about the wellbeing of our oceans and the aquatic life within it.

Thanks for your review. Yes, Australia is also going down the track of not giving a stuff about drilling or cracking. However, we do have some pretty strong environment laws that at least keeps them a bit honest. Take care and have a wonderful day.
