I laughed all the way through your zany conversation. By the time I envisioned and focused on one subject, your mind had changed. I can't imagine how agitated I would be if the ending of a mystery was missing. I enjoyed following your thought processes. Congrats on your well-deserved win.

I appreciate your very kind review.

This zany conversation reminds me of cyclical thinking, or is it circular. The stuff about 'refrained' and 'frained' is great. Amusing, witty, and a reminder that sometimes we don't get the ending of the mysteries around us no matter how hard we try until...at least a day later. Congratulations on the win.

Congrats in winning the contest, and I like you have no idea what a zani conversation is, but I guess a rumble will be the intuitive course of action. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

I think my head is spinning after reading this zany conversation. And I'm quite convinced you could keep going for days, if not weeks, That said, no doubt about you fulfilling the prompt and keeping me amused, if not so much your wife. Well done and good luck! A great contender! Debbie

Much appreciated!

God, I hate you for this piece. It was so good I might not vote for mine.
And another thing, the way your mind is shown within has me questioning if we are not related. Zany is what zany does, and I do demented, too.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you for the six stars! (That's a funny word.) We could be - related. But really, all writers need to do is open the lid and loosen the setscrews a bit - just not too much!
Thanks again!

Lol. A zany conversation, and a cleverly and humorously written piece. That would be the ultimate in frustration, to get to the end of a book and there is no appropriate conclusion, perhaps equal with sending the jigsaw pieces flying. Best wishes for the contest.

Thank you! I treasure your supportive review.
Comment from Jim Wile
Really enjoyed this stream-of-consciousness rant, full of malaproprisms, etymological questions, song clips, and overall zaniness as you attempt to figure out the end of your mystery. Frustrated at every turn, you probably end up poisoning yourself with red dye #3. And then you even try to hoodwink your wonderful wife into sharing in the misery of not knowing how it ends.
Very funny!

This is a great entry for the zany conversation contest. You are all over the place with you thoughts, but I guess that's part of the allure to this story.
It is zany for sure.
Well done and good luck in the contest.

This was wildly entertaining! Your rapid fire train of thought had me grinning the entire time. I love how you show small annoyances - turning them into laugh out loud moments. The "I-am-not-amused face" line. Fantastic! This is such a clever write. Bravo!

Thank you! I'm excited that you found it tolerable. Tolerable, now there's a funny word.

This is the first entry I have read via FS that has had me giggling from beginning to end. Your description of disappointment and ability to use words in the real and imaginative sense resonates with me. I would be surprised if I am the only one experiencing this. The frustration of things not being as they seem, the humour beside it. It is a beautiful tale well worth reading over and over. Good luck in this contest.
I look forward to reading more of your work.
