You do noticed that it always takes more than one person to gang up on our Detective, right? But this time he's in bad shape.... IF HE MAKES IT, he's going to need a very long vacation. Maybe in the next book....

Woah that was a tense chapter, Carol and I loved the action. You had me on the edge of my seat when Donatelli arrived. You created a brilliant tense atmosphere in the first part of the chapter as well, when Grayson feared something wasn't right. An excellent chapter, I really enjoyed reading it.

Plenty of drama in this chapter for sure! Doyl is fully evil, as are the Webbs and Zhang Wei, and the others. Will Donatelli survive a gunshot wound in his aleady weak condition? Probably not, unless it's very superficial.

Doyle is doing a lot of damage. Maybe his wounding of Grayson will change that man's mind about being a criminal. His wounding of Donatelli is horrible as Matt has a new daughter who needs his love. Even ghosts aren't enough to straighten Doyle out, but he may have met his match in Zhang Wei.

Not only is there lots of action in every chapter, but there is also surprises. Your readers can never say they knew what was going to happen next. You always stick something in the story that was unexpected. I didn't expect Doyle to show up. I didn't expect Grayson to get shot. And I surely didn't expect Donatelli to go down again. I feel like he just recuperated from injuries sustained when Miriam found him and fished him from the river and nursed him back to life. Danni will find him. He'll have to be okay so the story can have a happy ending.

There were way too many shots fired for me! I'm jittery from a second cup of coffee today, and this chapter had me in anxiety mode! I knew lots of action was coming, but shootouts? Who is going to die and who will survive?
And who in tarnation is going to get Doyle, et al?
Your descriptive writing is so intense I felt the "virtual" pain of the gunshots!

This Doyle guy gets on my nerves, he is pure evil and death. I am surprised that the ghost didn't stop the death of his own kin. Thank you for sharing and I cannot wait for the next chapter.
