Awwwwwwww!!! With that artwork, and calling a child a "Sweetie Pie", how could I resist? Congratulations on winning the contest! My favourite stanza was this (and I can picture it):

"Before you went down for your nap

I rocked and held you on my lap

I'd sing to you a lullaby

You'll always be my Sweetie Pie"

Congratulations, dear Debi on winning the Rhyming poem for a child contest. It is a well deserved win as this poem is perfectly penned, to a rhymic flow that appeals to the hearts of kids, even to the adult-kids like me. Well done, dear. Remain blessed.

Here we have a nursery rhyme that I would have liked grandmom write for me, thus I feel your Sweetie Pie, went to her nap smiling like a cookaburro bird, not a Jaybird squaking away.

-Congratulations on the win, Debi.
-Very well deserved.
-Great artwork and nice presentation.
-A well written poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-A very good opening verse about questions
that children ask. They can come up with some good ones.
-It sounds like you had a good time together,
even playing "Beauty and the Beast."
-A very good concluding verse and
repeating phrase throughout the poem.
-Very well done.

Hi Pam, I can't thank you enough for this very special review and kind words. Yes, ClaraBelle, (Belle was her nickname and it's the same as the beauty in the cartoon) thanks so much for the generous six stars.
My Sweetie Pie and I appreciate it so very much, my dear friend. LOL.

What an adorable poem, Debi.
I can understand why it won the contest.
I love the descriptions of the little things that make childhood so special, picking flowers, camping, nothing like camping out in the back garden and chasing butterflies or, dragonflies.
Awesome job.
Tim x

I will have to share this with my granddaughter whom I still call Sweetie Pie, and she is eighteen now. A very sweet and moving poem that resonated with me.

Hi Don, that is so funny as the granddaughter that I wrote this for is 18 too.
She used to always ask me to play beauty and the beast and I don't know if you are familiar with it, but my GD's name is ClaraBelle, and her nickname is Belle. And Belle is her name on the cartoon too.

So, I can't thank you enough for this very special review and kind words.
My Sweetie Pie and I appreciate it so very much, my dear friend. LOL.

Hi Debi,
what a truly delightful poem to read and then read again, out loud!

So cute, and yes, beautifully composed, constructed and then delivered... all the way from the perfect image driving your words in the most special way. I have to say..."any little girl... any grandma, who hold such a special relationship and bond will so connect to this poem and sentiment." I don't have children, so no grand kids, but I was there all the way living vicariously through your words... so a big thanks for that!
It made my heart feel lighter and satisfied in such a magic way!

Congratulations on this well deserved win Debi.

Beautiful-beautiful-beautiful!

With our thoughts we create...
the art of unconditional love.

In my thoughts and prayers.

Kindest regards,
James.

A delightful rhyming poem for a child. It's touching and for a grandma, it's especially sweet. I have a granddaughter who I used to sing similar songs to when she was very young. She is now 32 but I haven't seen her since she was two when her family moved away.
Thank you for sharing.

Blessings
Janet

Oh Janet, that breaks my heart that you've not seen her since she was two. I think I need to pray harder for you and your son. Starting right now.

Thank you Debi. My son has 8 children from ages 38 to 16. Four of them, I have never seen. But....I have 3 grandsons through my daughter that I am very close to. I've learned to count the blessings that I have and not the ones I've lost.

Ok, I have a tendency to have my heart broken so easily when my good friends hurt, I hurt. So if you have still have so much to be thankful for, I feel better knowing that.
    Love and hugs! Debi
