I'm a night owl too. I used to drive to airport and lie on the hill at the edge of the runway. When the planes weren't landing, I could watch the stars. Then, the planes would swoop down right over the top of me and land mere feet past where I was laying. Thanks for sharing.

Thank YOU for sharing, Ric! What a cool memory. I appreciate you leaving a comment on this one. It got the 'short story' part of my brain kicking this morning. :)
Blessings,

My favorite time of day is sunrise. Sitting on my back porch with a cup of tea and listening to the birds watch up. It's great. But I will agree sunset is gorgeous too. Thank you for sharing this entry with us. Good luck with the contest.

I agree about sunrise! The birth of a new day is always exciting. My son gave me a wall plaque that says something along the lines of, "Today is a new day. What you do with it is important. You will trade one day of your life for what you accomplish." It's much sweeter than that, of course, but the point is made. The beginning is the most important part because it determines the end. But I sitll love the darkness of night and the pinpoints stars create in its seeming void. :)
Blesisngs and hugs,
Deb

Hi Deborah, I loved your line poem for the contest. The imagery is lovely. I'm no poetry writer, but I do know that you never center a lune poem as it has to resemble a crescent moon. So it should read:
Sun begins to fade
Moonlight blooms,
easing day's burden
The best of luck. Ullaxcx

Your poem has such a calming flow to it. I thought the moonlight easing the burdens of the day is beautiful. The short lines work perfectly to capture that peaceful feeling from day to night. It's lovely! Keep up the great work!

This is a lovely Lune poem for the contest. I usually see them left-aligned, which emphasizes the crescent moon shape on the right side. (I read that somewhere on FS!) The information you included in your notes is wonderful! It makes me wonder how people can think our origins are random. Blessings, and best wishes in the contest. Carol

Some feel sad at sunset and some feel relieved that they can have a good night's sleep. I enjoyed your few words as you express your joy as the night descends, love Dolly x x x

Thanks for sharing this piece! I've just added the Privileged Planet to my library/purchase list! I'm excited to read it. I'm not a religious person (not sure whether or not I believe in a creator god). That said, the rarity and profound specialness of the earth-moon relationship is astonishing. This is especially true with how you've laid it out here. Thanks for writing this piece. It was a truly wonderful and awe-inspiring read!

Wow, Abigail! What an inspiring review. The authors of The Priveledged Planet never claim anyth8ing like "The Christian God, Yewhew, is the Creator!' They do make many interesting points that imply a creator of some sort, however. IT IS A GREAT READ! I'm pleased you put it on your list. I'd be interested to hear back from you about what you think of it. :)
Blessings, and thank you again,
Deb
