Gee, you've got this right. Mother Nature, aka as The Good Lord Himself sure has control when it comes to bringing about change. We only have to look back at what science and archeologists have discovered that go back to the dinosaur period. We humans are nothing more than minor player's in history. Let's just enjoy all the lessons we've learned.

I found this personification very powerful:"and all that mud from loosened dirt will crush all things beneath its skirt." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

You describe well the destructive power of nature in this piece, Pam. We are all at the mercy of Mother Nature on this Earth. A well written piece, I thought it flowed really well.

This is very well written, and I very much enjoyed listening to it. There's so much truth in it. We do not understand the power of water as it is uncontrollably flowing down. It can wash everything away that it's in its path. When I lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico a few years ago there was a 100 years flood and in El Paso Texas. There was a new Blockbuster store that had been built over one of the Arroyo's. The water came rushing down the Arroyoand it split that blockbuster store in half and they had to tear the building down. Even though the building was only two months old.

The imagery you capture through well crafted sensory words, paints a picture as one reads. The photo image supports your theme. I enjoyed reading your flowing rhymes.
Best wishes,
Alex

That is one of several things that we have to deal with in Southern California, Wildfires, floods after the wildfires strip the landscape, mud slides...

I know. I live in Northern California that we’ve had some similar issues there. Nothing as bad as what’s going on in LA. But we had the paradise fire which killed lot more people than I’ve been killed in LA fire so far.
Thanks for the thoughtful review

"God will destroy those who destroy the earth" is a statement from the Bible, Revelation 11:18. Fear not. It will happen, has happened before and will happen again and again, until it stops. God did not create the earth so that man who is also his creation, could bring it to ruin for his selfish gain. We had better learn this lesson soon, or it will be too late to recover.

Man always messes up when it comes to his relationship with the world around him. "It'll grow back" is his favourite mantra. Yes, sometimes that's true. But man fails to forget how long it took to grow there in the first place.

We see so many natural disasters happening and man helplessly watching .The Los angeles fire is still not under control. When the nature is angry we become helpless. But man is greedy and continues to exploit nature...

I know not if you have one place in mind but we sure did four months ago with Hurricane Helene in Appalachia. Home, and business, towns and livestock completely removed from existence. Very similar to the fire events in Southern California. Horrible. Well done.

Hi Tom. I did not have a particular place in mind, but I know of many many floods and of trees floating down the river in spindly logs.
I’m sorry for Appalachia and all the victims of hurricane Helene I’m especially sorry if you were a victim

we suffered a few yards of pasture fencing but God provided volunteers to rewire the breaks to keep our herd from wandering. Thank you.
