I can understand how working with Dr. Fauci would make Lori want to turn to humor writing. The gal certainly has an impressive background, and so many talents. Interesting that she pursued both ballroom dancing and kick boxing. I've known people who have sustained injuries that prevented them from doing some things they wanted to. I like the fact that her father encouraged her in writing humorous articles. Now she is taking a course in writing humor material. You did an excellent job of bringing out her unique talents and made me want to check out her writing. You have found a sure-fire to receive mucho reviews. The truth of the matter as far as rankings is that I honest-to-gawd never check them. I have no idea where I stand, nor do I care. I write because it brings me pleasure, and if I get some new, excellent writers noticed, count me in!

This is a light, fun read. I find interviews much more enjoyable when the interviewer and interviewee get along with no drama, and you and Lori definitely seem to mesh well.
I'm not familiar with Lori's work, but all the talk of her sense of humor makes me want to read it (which, to a degree, is exactly what this interview is meant to do, so it's obviously working).
I appreciate that you ask about the person and not just the work, as we can tell a lot about her as a writer by the work she posts, but hearing her history paints a much fuller picture. She seems like a very nice, down-to-earth person, and I look forward to getting to know her even more through her writing.

Hmmm. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I don't interview all the new members, and I also don't do it in any order. When I come upon a member whose works intrigue or delight me, I contact them and ask if they'd be game for an interview. It's all random and just based upon my person exposure to their work.

That is a point I hadn't thought about before, Gretchen - that people might like to find new people to read on here, but don't know who's worth their limited time to discover. Hopefully, after your art show, you'll delve back into the writing facet of your talent. I'm so happy that you have kept us going strong with your Miranda chapters. That can't be easy, but you're a bulldozer. Thank you for that. And very soon, we're starting up another co-authored book, so I'm happy about that, too!!

No, I read her and she's good. It's not my style, but much more complete than mine. Impressive. Which brings me to your book. It's really good. Some of the phrases you use are unique to you I think, and not just regional slang. I'm almost done. I liked it.
