Ciao mystery poet, you now have your first vote.

That splash of red in all that white always makes me smile.

I fed a red breast one winter. I loved spying on it as it ate the biscuit crumbs I left on the window sill.

Beautiful painting!

I always wanted a tiny fountain where birds could find restore and splash in but
I have pet cats and cats and birds don’t go well.

Even when fed well , cats will try to catch birds .. they are hunters by nature , it’s in their DNA

This poem has the same effect as the red bird. It makes me smile. It also serves as a reminder that whatever we're going through, this too, shall pass.

Your poem is so heartwarming! I could feel the chill of those winter blues melting away as that red bird perched. Your poem paints a beautiful mental image. What a lovely piece!

In need of a little winter cheer up myself, I clicked on your poem. I found it true and delightful. Cardinals are enough to cheer anyone up, sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little.
You captured a simple winter moment. I like that.
